SECTIOi'd 1. That the acceptance by the City of Salina of the proposal of the
h. J. Taylor Construction Coinimny, hereinaf`tur referred to as tile, "contractor" as
subrr:itted to the Board of CoYanissioners on July lu, 1s5U, whim is hereby found
tc be the lowest and best bid for such work, and the contract awarded by the
Board of Co_;missionex•s of said City to said contra5-,;or and si-ned on benalf of the
city by its L-ayor c.,n July 14, ly5U, for the construction of certain public improve-
ments in the City of Salina, Kansas, to-vr#:
An 8 inch clay pipe sewer beginning at an existing, manhole in Quincy
Street between jeweil Avenue and Kirwin Avenue tnence east in the
rimht of way for utilities between Jewell Avenue and hirwir. Avenue
I- a distance of 360 feet more or less, to a manhole to be const-
ructed , 'thence north a distance of b5 feet more or less, vmicn gall
be the terminus thereof.
An C inch clay pipe sewer beginning at an existing manhole at inter-
section of allez7 fIfst south of Gypsum Avenue and alley first east of
Delaware Avenue; thence south in said alley east of Lelaivare Avenue
465 feet more or less to the center line of Stack Avenue mere a

at and for the unit price for said work contained in said proposal, which proposal
and contract are hereby referred to and lade p� its of tt, is ordinance, be and the
same is hereby ratified and c_nfirmed, said proposal bein- within the estimated
cost of said improvements as snovm by the sworn estiirate of the C-ity LnEineer on
file in the office of theCity clerk, which est'riates are hereby referred to and made
a part of tnis ordinance.
SECTIuri 2. Said improvements shall be build and constructed inaccordance
with the plans and specifications therefore prepared Dy -the City En- neer on file
in the office of the City Ulcrk and in accorda: ce vrith the propsoal of said contractor
and under the terns of said cont=pct, all of which are hereby referred to and made a
part of tnis ordinan..e.

City Clerk be issued from tune to time as thev:orlr progeesses in the manner and form
as required by law, the total amountth.ereof not to exceed the contract price for such
work, such notes to bear interest at not to exceed 4$ per cera per anni-m and to
mature not later than December 1, 1951, and to be issued in such amounts and at such
times as money fcr tnepa.yment of the cost of such work may be required, such notes to
be issued to said contractor and to be redeemed and cancelled at the time that Internal
Improvement Bonds are issued in lieu of tnereof.
