AN ORDINANCE ratifying and confirming a contract with the H. J. Taylor Construction
Company for the construction of certain curbing, guttering and grading improvements
on certain streets in the City of Salina, and providing for the issuance of temporary
notes to pay the cost thereof pending, the issuance and sale of bonds.

BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina, Kansas:
Section 1. That the acceptance by the City of Salina of the proposal of the
H. J. Taylor Constructi6n Company, hereinafter referred to as the "Contractor" as
submitted to the Board of Commissioners on May 29, 1950, which is hereby found to
be the lowest and best bid for such work, and the contract awarded by the Board of
Commissioners of said City to said contractor and signed on behalf of the City of
Salina by the Mayor on June 12, 1950 for the construction of certain public
improvements in the City of Salina, Kansas, to--wit-.-
Curbing,
o-wit:
Curbing, guttering and grading of Beloit Avenue
from the west line of Quincy Street west approx-
imately 300 feet, as provided by Ordinance 5467.
Curbing, guttering and grading of Connecticut
Avenue from the north line of Gypsum Avenue to
the south line of Stapler Avenue, as provided
by Ordinance Number 5467.
Curbing, guttering and grading of Delaware
Avenue from the north line of Gypsum Avenue to
to the south line of Stapler Avenue, as provided
by Ordinance Number 5467.
Curbing, guttering and grading of the south side
of Hamilton Avenue from the center line of Eleventh
Street to the center line of Twelfth Street, as
provided by Ordinance Number 5467.
Curbing, guttering and grading of Harsh Avenue
from the center line of Eleventh Street to the
center line of Twelfth Street, as provided by
Ordinance Number 5467.
Curbing, guttering and grading of Indiana Avenue
from the center line of Gypsum Avenue to the
south line of Stapler Avenue, as provided by Ord-
inance Number 5467.
Curbing, guttering and grading of Pacific Avenue
from the center line of Eleventh Street to the
center line of Twelfth Street, as provided by
Ordinance Number 5467.
Curbing, gutterint7 and grading of Stapler Avenue
from the center line of Delaware A,Tenue to the
east line of Indiana Avenue, as provided by Ord-
inance Number 5467.
Curbing, guttering and grading of Twelfth Street
from the center line of Pacific Avenue to the
center line of Harsh Street, as provided by
Ordinance Number 5467.
Curbirig, guttering and grading of the east side
of Twelfth Street from the center line of Harsh
Avenue to the center line of Hamilton Avenue,
as provided by Ordinance Number 5467.
Curbing, guttering and grading of the north side
of Wilson Street from the west line of Front Street
to the east line of Third Street and on the south
side of Wilson Street from the west line of Front
Street to a point 125 feet west of the west line
of Second Street, as provided by Ordinance 5467..

at and for the unit price for said work contained in said proposal, which proposal
and contract are hereby referred to and made parts of this ordinance be and the same
is ratified and confirmed, said proposal being within the estimated cost of said
improvements as shown by the sworn estimated cost of the City Engineer on file in
the office of the City Clerk, which estimates are hereby referred to and made a
part of this ordinance.
Section 2. Said improvements shall be built and constructed in accordance
with the plans and specifications therefor prepared by the City Engineer on file
in the office of the City Clerk and in accordance urith the proposal of said con-
tractor and under the terms of said contract, all of which are hereby referred to
and made parts of this ordinance.
Section 3. That temporary notes signed by the Payor and attest by the City
Clerk be issued from time,,�o time as the work progresses in the manner and form
as required by law, the total amount thereof not to exceed the contract price for
such work, such notes to bear interest not to exceed 4.-21 per cent per annum and to
mature not later than December 1, 1951, and.to be issued in such amounts and at
such times as money for the payment of the cost of such notes to be issued to said
contractor and to be redeemed and cancelled at the time that permanent bonds are
issued in lieu thereof.
Section 4. This ordinance shall be in force from and after its publication
once in the official city paper.
