AN ORDINAT?CE ratifying and confirming a contract -Vrith the H. J Taylor Construction
Company for the construction of certain curbing, guttering,
ove
ments on certain streets in the City of Salina, and providingvfor the issuance ofing and grading temporary notes to pay the cost thereof pending the issuance and sale of bonds.
BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina, Kansas:
Section 1. That the acceptance by the City of Salina, Kansas, of the proposal of
the H. J. Taylor Construction Company, hereinafter referred to as the IlContractoril
as submitted to the Board of Commissioners on May 29, 1950, which is hereby found to
be the lowest and best bid for such work, and the contract awarded by the Board of
Commissioners of said City to said contractor and signed on behalf of the City by its
Mayor on June 12, 1950, for the construction of certain public improvements in the
City of Salina, Kansas, to -,wit:
Paving and grading of Front Street from the
south line of Crawford Avenue to the north
line of Republic Avenue, as provided by
Ordinance Number 5.66.
Curbing, guttering, paving and Trading of
Claflin.Avenue from the west line of Eleventh
Street to the east line of Pershing Street,
as provided by Ordinance Number 5466.
Curbing, guttering and paving and grading of
Twelfth Street from the south line of Broad-
way Boulevard to the south line of Grand
Avenue, as provided by Ordinance Number54 66
j at and for the unit prices for said work contained in said proposal, which proposal
and contract are hereby referred to and made Darts of this ordinance, be and the same
is hereby ratified and confirmed, said proposal being within the estimated cost of spa
improvements as shown by the sworn estimates of the City Engineer in the files of the
office of the City Clerk, which estimates are hereby referred to and made a part of
this ordinance.
Section 2. Said improvements shall be built and constructed in accordance with
the plans and specifications therefor prepared by the City Engineer on file in the
office of the City Clerk and in accordance with the proposal of said contract and under
the terms of said contract, all of which are hereby referred to and made parts of
this ordinance
Section 3. That temporary notes signed by the Mayor and attested by the City
Clerk be issued from time to time as the work progresses in the manner and form as
provided by law, the total amount thereof not to exceed the contract price for such
work, such notes to bear interest not to exceed 42 per cent per annum and to mature

not later than December 1, 1951, and to be issued in such amounts and at such times
I
as money for the payment of the cost of such notes be issued to said contractor and
to be redeemed and cancelled at the timethat permanent bonds are issued in lieu
thereof.
Section 4. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after its
publication once in the official city paper.
