OxDINANCE ratifying and confirming a contract with H. J. ay or City
Company for the construction of certain ral Sanitary Sewer Districts al sanitary sewer in e-244.
of Salina, heretofore designated as Lateral J
and providing for the issuance of temporary notes to pay the cost thereof,
pending issuance and sale of bonds.
E IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina, Kansass
gwai;on 1. That The acceptance by the City of Salina of the proposal of
the H. J. Taylor Construction Company, hereinafter referred to as the "contractor"
as submitted to the Board of Commissioners on March 6, 1950, which is hereby
found to be the lowest and best bid for such work, and the contract awarded by
the Board of Commissioners of said City to said contractor and signed on behalf
of the City by its Mayor on Earch 13, 1950, for the construction of certain public
improvements in the City of Salina, Kansas, to -wit:
A lateral sanitary sewer in a certain benifit district,
being Lateral Sanitary Sewer Number 248, as heretofore
provided by Ordinance Number 5452 as follows: Construction
of an 8 inch clay pipe sewer beginning at a manhole at the
intersection of that certain easterly and westerly alley
next south of Gypsum Avenue and that certain north and
south alley between Ohio Street and ConnecticutAvenue-
thence south in said alley to a point directly west of
Lot 26 Blk 1 Stack Place, an Addition to
south line of a s

the City of Salina, Kansas.
at and for the unit price for said wor contained in said proposal, which proposal
and contract are hereby referred to and made parts of this ordinance, be and
the same is hereby ratified and confirmed, said proposal being within the esti-
mated cost of said improvements as shown by the sworn estimate of the City
Engineer
on file in the office of the City C&erk, which estimates are hereby
referred to and made a part of this ordinance.
Section 2. Said improvements shall be built and constructed in accordance
with the plans and specifications therefore prepared by the City Engineer on
file in the office of the City Clerk and in accordance with the proposal of

said contractor and under the terms of said contract, all of which are here-
by referred to and made apart of this ordinance.
Section 3. That temporary notes signed by the Mayor and attested by the
City Clerk be issued from time to time as the work progresses in the manner and
form as required by law, the total amount thereof not to exceed the contract
price for such work, such notes to bear interest at not to exceed 4- per cent
per annum and to mature not later than April 1, 1951, and to be issued in such
amounts and at such times as money for the payment of the cost of such work
may be required, such notes to be issued to said contractor and to be redeemed
and cancelled at the time that Internal improvement bonds are issued in lieu o
thereof.
Section 4. That ordinance shall take efi'eet and be in force from and
after its publication once in the official city paper.
