BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of the Cit of S

Section 1. That the acceptance by the City of Salina of the proposal of
the H. J. Taylor Construction Company, herein -after refers
ed to as the "Contractor"
or
as submitted to the Board of Commissioners on November 28, 1949, which is hereby
found to be the lowest and best bid for such work, and the contract awarded by the
Board of Commissioners of said city to said contractor and signed on behalf of
the
City of Salina by the Mayor on December 5 1949 for r
the construction tion
i of certain public
improvements in the City of Salina, Kansas, to-%yitz
Curbing, guttering and grading of Lincoln Avenue
from the east line of Reynolds treet to the east line
of Broadway Blvdl, as provided for in Ordinance
Number 5429.
Curbing, guttering and grading of Wood Avenue
from the center line of Crawford Avenue to the
center line of Bond Street, as provided by Ordinance
Number 5429,
at and for the unit price for said work contained in laid proposal, which proposal
and contract are hereby referred to and made parts of this ordinance be and the same
is testified and confirmed, said proposal being within the estimated cost of said impro-
vements

shown by the sworn estimates s imates of the City Engineer on file in the office of
the City Clerk, which estimates are hereby rederred to and made a part of this Ordinance
Section --2,,- Said improvements shall be built and constructed in accordance
with the plans and specifications therefor prepared by the City Engineer on file in the
Office of the City Clerk and in accordance with the proposal of said contractor and under
the terms of the said contract, all of which are hereby referred to and made parts of this
ordinance.
Section 3. That temporary notes signed by the Mayor and attested by the City
Clerk be issued from time to time as the work progressed in the manner and form as requir-
ed by law, the total amount thereof not to exceed the contract price for such work, such
notes to bear interest not to exceed 4- per cent per annum and to mature not later than
April li 1951, and to be issued in such amounts and at such times as money forthhe payment
of the cost of such notes to be issued to said contractor and to be redeemed and cancelled
d
at the time that permanent bonds are issued in lieu thereof.

Section 4. This Ordinance shall be in force from and after its publication
in the official city paper.
