in the Citof Salina, and providing for the issuance of temporary notes
to pay the cost thereof pending the issuance and sale of bonds.
E IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina, "ansas:
Section 1. That the acceptance by the City of Salina, "ansas, of the
proposal of the H. J. Taylor Construction Company, herein -after referred to as
the "Contractor" as submitted to the Board of Commissioners on September 26, 1949,
which is hereby found to be thelowest and best bid for such w6rk, and the contract
awarded by the Board of Commissioners of said city to said contract and signed on
behalf of the City by its .;iayor on October 3, 1949 for the construction of certain
public improvements in the City of Salina, Kansas, to -wit:
Curbing, guttering, paving and grading of Crawford
Avenue from the east line of Fourth Street to the
east line of Fifth Street,as provided by Ordinance
Number 5417.
Paving and grading of Kirwin Avenue from the west
line of Fourth Street to the west line of Osborne
Street, as provided by Ordinance Number 5417.
Paving and grading of Kansas Avenue from the north
line of Gypsum Avenue to the south line of Iron
Avenue, as provided by Ordinance Number 5417.
Paving and grading of Quincy Street from the south
line of Republic Avenue to the north line of Beloit
Street, as provided by Ordinance Number 5417.
Curbing ,guttering and grading of '.uincy Street
from the north line of republic Avenue to the south
line of Beloit Street, as provided in Ordinance
Number 5417.

Paving and grading of 'Third Street from the north line of
North Street to the south line of the Union Pacific
xight-of-way, as provided in Ordinance Number 5417,
at and for the unit prices for said work contained in said proposal, which proposal
and contract are hereby referred to and made parts of this ordinance, be the same
is hereby ratified and confirmed, said proposal being within the estimated cost
of said improvements as shown by the sworn estimates of the City 8ngineer on file
in the office of the City Clerk, which estimates are hereby referred to and made
a part of this ordinance.
Section 2, Said improvements shall be built and constructed in acc-
ordance withthe pland and specifications therefor prepared by the City Engineer
on file in the office of the City Clerk and in accoddance with the proposal of
said contractor and under the terms of said contract, all of which are hereby
referred to and made parts of this ordinance.
Section 3. That remporary notes sined by the ayor and attested by the
City Clerk be issued from time to time as the work profJressed in the manner and
form provided and required by law, the total amount thereof :not to exceed the
