BE IT ORDAIvED b,- the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina, Kansas:
Section 1. That the acceptance by the City of Salina of the proposal of the H. J.
Taylor Construction Company, hereinafter referred ��
i to as the contractor" as submitted
to the Board of Commissioners on August 8, 1949, which is hereby found to be the lowest
and best bid for such work, and the contract awarded by the Board of Commissioners of said
City to said contractor and signed on behalf of the City by its `i,laror on August 12 1QI�

for the construction of certain public improvements in the City of Sa ina, Kansas to it:
A lateral sanitary sewer in a certain benefit distract,
being Lateral Sanitary Sewer Number 244, as heretofore
Provided by Ordinance Number 5.00, as follows: Construe -
tion of an eight inch clay pipe sewer, beginning at an
existing manhole which is 27 feet east of the west 1'_ane
Olt' Eisconsin Avenue and on the south line of Stapler
Avenue extended east; thence south on a line 27 feet
eHst of the west line of Wisconsin Avenue 500 feet,
at which point a manhole is to be constructed, being
the terminus thereof,
at and for the unit price for said work contained in said proposal, which proposal and
contract are hereby referred to and made parts of this ordinance, be and the same is
hereby ratified and confirmed, said proposal being within the estimated cost of said
improvements as shown by the sworn estimates of the City Engineer on file: in the office
of the City Clerk, which estimates are hereby referred to and made a part of this ordin-
ance,
Section 2. Said improvements shall be built and constructed in accordance with the
plans and specifications therefore prepared by the City Engineer on file in the office of
the Citi- Clerk and in accordance with the proposal of said contractor and under the terms

of said contract, all of which are hereby referred to and made parts of t'1is ordinance.
Section That temporary notes signed by the Mayor and attested by the City Clerk
be issued from time to time as the -viork
progresses in the manner and form as required by
law, the total amount thereof not to exceed the contract price for such work, such notes
to bear interest at not to exceed per cent per annum and to mature not later than
Decemlaer 30, 1950, and to be issued in such amounts and at such times as money for the
payment of the cost of such work may be required, such notes to be issued to said con-
tractor and to be redeemed and cancelled at the tine that Internal Improvement bonds are
issued in lieu thereof.
Section 4. That ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after its
publication once in the official city paper.
