5594 Issue GO Bonds, Series P-154ORDINANCE NO. 5594 (Published in the Salina �Qurnal _ �X 1951 AN ORDIN-,%NCE authorizing and providing for the issuance of Improvement Bonds of the City of Salina, Kansas, in the sum of $104,676.68, to pay the cost of improving certain streets and alleys in said city to be designated as Series Number P-154. HE�AS, pursuant to proceedings duly had according to law, contracts have been let and performed for the construction of the following street improvements in the City of Salina, Kansas, to -wit: Paving and grading of Front Street from the south line of Crawford Avenue to the north line of Repiblic Avenue, as provided by Resolution Number 1160 and Ordinance Number 5466. Curbing, guttering, paving and grading on Claflin Avenue, from the west line of Eleventh Street to the east line of Pershing Street, as provided by Resolution Number 1173 and Ordinance Number 5466. Curbing, guttering, paving and grading of Twelfth Street from the south line of Broadway Boulevard to the south line of Grand Avenue, as provided by Resolution Number 1158 and Ordinance Number 5466. Paving and grading of Eleventh Street fro_tii the north line of Harsh Avenue to the south line of Hamilton Street, as provided by Resolution Number 1188 and Ordinance Number 5505. Paving and grading of Second Street from the north line of Elm Street to the south line of North Street, as pro- vided by Resolution Number 1179 and Ordinance Number 5505• Paving and grading of Seventh Street from the south line of Woodland Avenue to the north line of Grand Avenue, as pro*ded by Resolution Number 1189 and Ordinance Number 5505. Curbing, guttering, paving and grading of Iron Avenue from the east line of Delaware Avenue to the east line of Marymount Road, as provided by Resolution Number 1184 and Ordinance Number 5505. Curbing, guttering, paving and grading of Jewell Avenue from the east line of Osborne Avenue to the east line of Lots 33 and 34 on Jewell Avenue, as provided by Resolution Number 1190 and Ordinance Number 5505. :HEItIAAS, the total cost of said improvements has been ascertained and the portion thereof in the amount of X23,193.33 to be paid by general taxes to be levied upon all taxable property within said city for the improvement of squares and areas formed by the crossing of streets and alleys and for the improvement of an -kr of said streets, where the same is through or adjacent to property of tie city for which the city is liable, and for which bonds are to be issued; and IfFHEREAS, the total cost of said curbing, guttering, paving and grading of said streets, which are to be paid by special assessments and to be levied upon lots and pieces of ground liable for the payment of said curbing, guttering, grading and paving in said streets has been ascertained and has been hereby found and determined to be the sum of '$101,329.89, i&iich amount has been heretofore duly assessed and apportioned to the several lots and pieces of ground liable therefor according to law provided for in the ordinance of the City of Salina, Kansas, relating thereto, duly passed and approved of which amount the sum of :19,846.54 has been paid by the property owners liable there- for, leaving a balance of '81,483.35 for which bonds are to be issued; and GJIEREAS, bonds in the aggregate sum of :104,676.68 are to be issued to pay the actual cost thereof. BE I`i' ORDAI pET by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina, Kansas: Sedtion 1. That the foregoing preambles be and they are hereby authorized as a part of this ordinance and that for the purpose of providing funds to pay the cost of the improvements herein above referred to and described in the ordinances and resolutions 1 J hereinbefore referred to, there shall be issued IntErnal Improvement Bonds of the City of Salina, Kansas, in the total principal sum of x104,676.68, which shall consist of One Hundred Four bonds, numbered 1 to 101, inclusive, all dated December 1, 1951, which shall #1 to 34 Q 21% bear interest at the rate of#35 to 101 9 1j% per annum from and after said date until the respective maturities of said bonds, payable August 1, 1952, and thereafter semi-annually on February lst and August lst of each year, said interest to be evidenced by interest coupons as herein provided for and said bonds shall become due as follows: Bonds numbered 1 to 14, for $P`1,000.00 each except Bond Number 1 is for $1676.68 due February 1, 1953• Bonds numbered 15 to 24 for $1,000.00 each, due February 1, 1954. Bonds numbered 25 to 34 for $1,000.00 each, due February 1, 1955• Bonds numbered 35 to 44 for $1,000.00 each, due February 1, 1956. Bonds numbered 45 to 54 for $1,000.00 each, due Feb_Uary 1, 1957. Bonds numbered 55 to 64 for 21,000.00 each, due February 1, 1958. Bonds numbered 65 to 74 for $1,000.00 each, due February 1, 1959. Bonds numbered 75 to 84 for $1,000.00 each, due February 11 1960. Bonds numbered 85 to 94 for 41,000.00 each, due February 1, 1951. Bonds numbered 95 to 104 for :1,000.00 each, due February 1, 1962. Section 2. Said bonds shall be signed by the Mayor and shall be attested by the signature of the City Clerk and corporate seal of the City shall be affixed t'ereto and said bonds shall have attached thereto interest coupons representing the interest thereon, which coupons stall be in the form provided by law and small bear the printed or litho- graphed facsimile signature of the Payor and City Clerk of said city and said bonds and interest coupons shall be registered in the office of the City Clerk and in the office of the Auditor of State, as requ.;red by law, Section 3.
