AN ORDINANCE prescribing limitati-ns as to habitation and maintenance of house -car
trailer, and sanitary requirements of the City of Salina, Kansas, amending Section
25-102 Paragraph No. 2, and Section 25-105 Paragraph 3(a) and Section 25-105 Paragraph
3(b), Revised Ordinances of the City of Salina, 1948, and repealing the said sections
and paragraphs.
BE IT 0iWA1111ED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina, Kansas:
Section 1. Amendment. That the original of Section 25-102, Paragraph No, 2, Revised
Ordinances of the City of Salina, 1946, be and it is hereby amended to read as follows:
1125-102 Paragraph No. 2. Habitation and Maintenance of House -car Trailers. It shall
be unlawful for any person, except the proprietor or his bona fide e.ployees, to remain
in any trailer camp longer than six months."
Section 2. Amendment. That the original of Secti•n 25-105 Paragraph 3(a), Revised
Ordinances of the City of Salina, Kansas, 19.8, be and it is hereby amended :�o read follows:
1125-105 Paragraph 3(a) Sanitary Requirements No. 3. (a) One toilet of the flush
type shall be provided for each sex for every ten (10) units that do not have toilet faci-
lities within them, or fraction thereof, provided that one-fourth of the required toilets
for men may be substituted with urinals of the tinter flush type. Entrances to all toilet
facilities shall be screened, fly -tight, and provided with sufficient lights to provide
ample illumination at might. No trailer } unit shall be farther than two hundred (200)
feet from a toilet. The use of any chemical closet or any toilet in a house -car trailer
shall be forbidden while such house -car trailer is located within the city limits.',
Section 3. Amendment. That the original of Section 25-105 Paragraph 3(b), Revised
Ordinances of the City of Salina,Kansas, 1948, be and it is hereby mended to read as follows
or bath
"25-105 Paragrap# 3(b) Sanitary Requirements No. 3. (b) One shower/shall be provided
for each sex for every ten (10) units that do not have both facilities within them, or
fraction thereof provided that tubs may be substituted for one-tenth of the required
number of showers. One wash basin shall be provided for each sex for each five {5} units
or fraction thereof. Such showers or bath tubs and wash basins shall be located in build-
ings or structures in accordance with the ordinances of the city and of such material as
shall permit satisfactory cleaning. The floors of each such building shall be of concrete
or other non -porus material, and lights for such buildings shall be such as to provide
ample illumination at night.
Section 4. Repeal. That the original section 25-102 Paragraph No. 2 and original
Section 25-105 Paragraph No. 3(a) and original section 25-105 Paragraph No. 3(b) all of
the Revised Ordinances of the City of Salina, Kansas 1948, be and they are hereby repealed.
Section 5. Effective. That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from
and after its adoption and publication in the official city paper.
