5588 Confirm Street Improvements-- OR ,IA= Iia. -55e8 (First published in the Salina Journal 1951) Paving and grading of Kirwin Avenue from the west line of Pershing Street to the east line of Funston Street, as pro- vided by Ordinance No, 5573• Paving and grading of Lamar Street from the east line of Fourth Street to the west.line of Third Street, as pro- vided by Ordinance No. 5573• Paving and grading of Penn Avenue from the south line of Gypsum Avenue to the north line of Smoky Hill Drive, as provided by Ordinance No. 5573• Paving and grading of Reynolds Street from the north line of Lincoln Avenue to the sout# line of Broadway Boulevard, as provided by Ordinance No. 5573• Paving and grading of Twelfth Street from the north line f of Lincoln Avenue to the south line of Grand Avenue, as provided by Ordinance No. 5573, at and for the unit price for said work contained in said proposal, which proposal and con- tract are hereby referred to and made parts of this ordinance, be and the same is hereby ratified and confirmed, said proposal being within the estimated cost of said improvements as shown by the sworn estimates of the City Engineer on file in the office of the City Clerk, which estimates are hereby referred to and made a part of this ordinance. Section 2. Said improvements shall be built and constructed in accordance with the plans and specifications therefor prepared by the City Engineer on file in the office of the City Clerk and in accordance with the proposal of said contractor and under the terms of said contract, all of which are hereby referred to and made parts of this ordinance. Section 3. That temporary notes signed by the Mayor and attested by the City Clerk be issued from time to time as the work progresses in the manner and form as required by law, the total amount thereof not to exceed the contract price for such work, such notes to bear interest not to exceed ki per cent per annum and to mature not later than June 1, 1953, and to be issued in such amounts and at such time as money for the payment of the cost of such notes to be issued to said contractor and to be redeemed and cancelled at the time that permanent bonds are issued in lieu thereof. AN ORDINANCE ratifying and confirming a contract with the H. J. Taylor Construction Company for the construction of certain paving and grading improvements on certain streets in the City of Salina, and providing for the issuance of temporary notes to pay the cost thereof pending the issuance and sale of bonds. BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina, Kansas: Section 1. That the acceptance by the City of Salina, Kansas, for the proposal of the H. J. Taylor Construction Company, hereinafter referred to as the "Contractor" as submitted to the Board of Commissioners on September 10, 1951, which is hereby found to be the lowest and best bid for such work, and the contract awarded by the Board of Commissioners of said city to said contractor and signed on behalf of the City of Salina by its Mayor on September 17, 1951, for the construction of certain public improvements in the City of Olina, to-wdt: Paving and grading of Eleventh Street from the north line of Wilson Street to thenorth line of Republic Avenue, as provided by Ordinance No. 5573• Paving and grading of Grund Avenue from the west line of Tenth Street to the west line of Eleventh Street, as pro- vided by Ordinance No. 5573• Paving and grading of Kirwin Avenue from the west line of Pershing Street to the east line of Funston Street, as pro- vided by Ordinance No, 5573• Paving and grading of Lamar Street from the east line of Fourth Street to the west.line of Third Street, as pro- vided by Ordinance No. 5573• Paving and grading of Penn Avenue from the south line of Gypsum Avenue to the north line of Smoky Hill Drive, as provided by Ordinance No. 5573• Paving and grading of Reynolds Street from the north line of Lincoln Avenue to the sout# line of Broadway Boulevard, as provided by Ordinance No. 5573• Paving and grading of Twelfth Street from the north line f of Lincoln Avenue to the south line of Grand Avenue, as provided by Ordinance No. 5573, at and for the unit price for said work contained in said proposal, which proposal and con- tract are hereby referred to and made parts of this ordinance, be and the same is hereby ratified and confirmed, said proposal being within the estimated cost of said improvements as shown by the sworn estimates of the City Engineer on file in the office of the City Clerk, which estimates are hereby referred to and made a part of this ordinance.
