5586 Confirm Street Improvements1 1 ORDINANCE N0. (Published in the Salina Journal I 5�L 5.86 �j 1 ✓ AN ORDINANCE ratifying and confirming a contract with the H. J. Taylor Construction Company for the construction of certain curbing, guttering and grading improvements on certain streets in the City of Salina, and providing for the issuance of temporary notes to pay the cost thereof pending the issuance and sale of bonds. BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina, Kansas: Section 1. That the acceptance by the City of Salina of the proposal of the H. J. Taylor Construction Company, hereinafter referred to as the "contractor" as submitted to the Board of Conmiss'oners on September 10, 1951, which is hereby found to be the lowest and best bid for such work, and the contract awarded by the Board of Commissioners of said city to said contractor and signed on behalf of the City of Salina by the Mayor on September 17, 1951 for the construction of certain public improvements in the City of Salina, Kansas, to -wit: Curbing, -guttering and grading of the north side of Charlotte enue from the east line of Simmons Street to the west line o Fourth Street, as provided by Ordinance Number 5572. Curbing, guttering and grading of Cloud Avenue from the west line of Simmons Street to the west line of the Union Pacific Railroad right-of-way, as provided by Ordinance Number 5572. Curbing, gutt,6ring and grading of Ellsworth Avenue from the east line of Norton Street to the west line of Roach Street, as provided by Ordinance Number 5572. Curbing, guttering and grading of Fourth Street from the south line of Cloud Avenue to the south line of Charlotte Avenue, as Provided by Ordinance Number 5572. Curbing, guttering and grading of Gebhart Street from the south line of Cloud Avenue to the north line of Charlotte Avenue, a s provided by Ordinance Number 5572. Curbing, guttering and grading of Kenison Road from the south line of McAdams Road to the north line of Wilson Street, as provided by Ordinance Number 5572. Curbing, guttering and grading of Larson Street from the south line of Cloud Avenue to thenorth line of Charlotte Avenue, as provided by Ordinance Number S572. Curbing, guttering and grading of Minneapolis Avenue from the east line of Quincy Street to the east line of .dorton Street, as provided by Ordinance Number 5572. Curbing, guttering and grading of Morningside Drive from the east line of Kenison Road to the center line of Sunrise Drive, as provided by Ordinance Number 5572. Curbing, guttering and grading of Norton Street from the north line of Minneapolis Avenue to the north line of Ellsworth Avenue, as provided by Ordinance Number 5572. grading of Curbing, guttering and/Rahm Street from the west line of Front Street to the center line of Third Street, as provided by Ordinance Number 5572. Curbing, guttering and grading of Sunrise Lrive fromthe south line of Beloit Avenue to the south line of Ellsworth Avenue, as provided by Ordinance Number 5572, at and for the unit price for said work contained in said proposal, which proposal and contract are hereby referred to and made a part of this ordinance be and the same is ratified and confirmed, said proposal being wit#in the estimated cost of said improve- ments as shown by the sworn estimates of the City Lngineer on file in the office of the City Clerk, which estimates are hereby referred to and made a part of this ordinance. 1 1 1 Section 2. Said improvements shall be built and constructed in accordance with the plans and specifications therefor prepared by the City Engineer on filesin the office of the City Clerk and in accordance with the proposal of said contractor and under the terms of the said contract, all of which are hereby referred to and made parts of this ordinance. Section 3. That temporary notes signed by the Mayor and attested by the City Clerk i be issued from time to time as the work progressed in the manner and form as required by law, the total amount thereof not to exceed the contract price for such work, such notes to bear interest not to exceed 4i per cent per annum and to mature not later than June 1, 1953 and to be issued in such amounts and at such time as money for the payment of the vost of such notes to be issued to said contractor and to be redeemed and can- celled at the time that permanent bonds are issued in lieu thereof.
