5561 Confirm Utility Improvements - Cloud Street1 1 ORDINANCE NO. 5561 in the Salina Journal /l1 / --------------------- AM oRDIN ANCE rat-Lfy-.ng and confirming a contract with H. J. Taylor Construction Company for the construction of certain Lateral Sanitary Sewers in the City of Salina heretofore designated as Lateral Sanitary Sewer District 264 and o s providing for the issuance oft emp rary notes to pay the cost thereof, pending issuance and sale of bonds. BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Cortnissioners of the City of Salina, Kansas: Section 1. That the acceptance by the City of Salina of the proposal of the H. J. Taylor Construction Companys hereinafter referred to as the "contractor" as submitted to the Board of Commissioners on May 21, 1951, which is hereby found to be the lowest and best bid for such works and the contract awarded by the Board of Commissioners of said city to said contractor and signed on behalf of the city by its Mayor on May 28, 19510 for the construction of ceixtain public improvements in the City of Salina, to -wit: An 8 inch clay pipe sewer beginning at an existing manhole at the center line of Cloud Street andthe center line of right -of -moray for utilities just east of Simmons Street; thence south along center line of said right-of-way to the center line of Charlotte Street where a manhole will be constructed which will be the terminus of Lateral 264, at and for the unit price for said work contained in said proposal, which proposal and contract are hereby referred to and made parts of this ordinance, be and the same is hereby ratified and eonfirmeds said proposal being within the estimated cost of said improvements as shown by the sworn estimate of the City Engineer on file in the office of the City Clerks which estimates are hereby referred to and made a part of this ordinance. Section 2. Said unprovements shall be built and constructed in accordance with the plans and specifications therefore prepared by the City Engineer on file in the Office of the City Clerk and in accordance with -the proposal of said contractor and under the terms of said contracts all of which are hereby referred to and made a part of this ordinance. Section 3. That temporary notes signed by the Mayor and attested by the City Clerk be issued from time to time as the work progresses in the manner and form as required by law, the total amount thereof not to exceed the contract price for such work, such notes to bear interest at not to exceed 4J per cent per annum and to mature not later than December 1, 1952s and to be issued in such amounts and at such times as may the money for the payment of the cost of such work be requireds such notes to be issued to said contractor and to be redeemed and cancelled at the time that Internal Improvement Bonds are issued in lieu thereof. Section 4. That this ordinance shall take effect and be in full force from and after its publication once in the official city paper.
