ORDINANCE NUMBER 90-9405
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ARTICLE III OF CHAPTER 35 OF THE
SALINA CODE BY ENACTING SECTION 35-43 PERTAINING TO THE PLACEMENT
OF NEWSRACKS ON ANY CITY SIDEWALK OR ANY OTHER PUBLIC PROPERTY.
Kansas:
BE IT ORDAINED by the Governing Body of the City of Salina,
Section 1. That Article III of Chapter 35 of the Salina Code is hereby
amended by adding Section 35-43 which shall read as follows:
"Section 35-43. Newsracks.
The placing of newsracks shall be allowed upon
sidewalks or other public property by permit issued by the
City Clerk. The City Manager is authorized to adopt
administrative regulations regarding the issuance of such
permits based upon public safety and public property
maintenance concerns. The term "newsrack" shall include
any device for holding and dispensing multiple copies of any
newspaper publication for free or for a charge."
Section 2. That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from
and after its adoption once in the official city newspaper.
