5537 Bus FaresORDINANCE (First published in the Salina Journal i 1951)- I AN ORDIrTANCE PROV CDING for the amendment of Section Ten (10) of Ordinance No. 5237, as amended by Ordinance No. 5448, and providing for the repeal of the original of said Section Ten (10) as amended. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMTISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF SALINA, KANSAS. Section 1. That Section Ten (10) of Ordinance No. 5237, as amended by Ordinance No. 5448, be and it is hereby amended to read as follows: "Section 10. RATES. The maximum fares upon any regular line or route of said motor bus transportation system for one continuous passage in the same direction with- in the limits of said city, including transfer to a connecting route (as hereinafter provided for), shall not exceed the following: For all persons over 17 years of age, each single fare 10 cents. I For children under the age of 18 years, 72 cents, provided that no fare shall be charged for a child in arms, under 5 years of age, when carried by a fare - paying passenger. The grantee shall furnish transfers without charge upon the payment of one fare for transfer from one route to another, good for continuous passage in the same direc- tion on the next available connecting bus where it is necessary for the passenger to use more than one of said designated routes to reach his destination, but no such transfer shall be good for passage upon any route by which the passenger may return substantially to his point of origin." I I Section 2. That the original Section Ten (10) of said Ordinance No. 5237, as amended by Ordinance No. 5448, be and it is hereby repealed. Section 3. This ordinance shall be read in full at three regular weekly meetings I of the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina and immediately after its final I passage, shall be published in the official city paper once a week for three consecutive weeks, and after such passage and publication, and after its acceptance in writing by grafi - tee has been filed as herein provided for, and shall thereafter take effect and be in force as provided by law.
