AN
AN ORDINlaXE providing for and authorizing the issuance of Improvement Bonds of
the City of Salina, Kansas, in the sum of $44,034.63, to pay the cost of constr-
ucting main sanitary sayers and eertFin lateral sanitary sewers and storm sewers
in the CitUr of Salina, Kansas, which bonds shall be designated as Series S-155.
MMEAS, pursuant to proceedings duly had according to law, certain main and cer-
tain lateral sanitary sewers and storm severs have been constructed in the City
of Salina, Kansas, in main sewer districts and certain lateral sanitary sewer

districts, as follows:
Main Sanitary Sewer District "Y" as provided for and authorized by
Ordinance Humber 5528..
Lateral Sanitary Sewer District 249, as provided for and authorized
j by Ordinance Number 5460.
Lateral Sanitary Sevier District 250, as provided for and authorized
by Ordinate Number 5463.
Lateral Sanitary Sewer District 251, as provided for and authorized
by Ordinance number 5478.
Lateral Sanitary Sewer District 252, as provided for and authorized
by Ordinance Number 5488.
Lateral Sanitary Sewer District 253, as provided for and authorized
by Ordinance Number 5492.
Lateral Sanitary Sewer District 254, as provided for and authorized
by Ordinance Number 5494.
Lateral Sanitary Sewer Districts 255 and 256, as provided for and
authorized by Ordinance Number 5521,,
Lateral Sanitary Sewer District 257, as provided for and authorized
by Ordinance humber 5532.
Lateral Sm itary Sewer Districts 258 and 259, as provided for and
authorized by Ordinance Number 5527.
Laterdl Sanitary Sewer Districts 260 and 261, as provided for and
authorized by Ordinance number 5540.
Lateral Sanitary Sewer Districts 262 and 263, as provided for and
authorized by Ordinance Number 5545.
Lateral Sanitary Sewer Districts 264, as provided for end authorized
by Ordinance Number 5555.
Stora Sewer as provided for and authorized by Ordinance Number 5509.
V'tHIMEAS, the total cost of said sewers constructed in and as the seprer districts
above mentioned and to be paid by special assessments levied upon lots and pieces
of ground liable for the payment of said sewers in the sewer districts above men-
tioned has been ascertained and is hereby found and determined to be the sun of
040,182.22, which amount has been heretofore duly assessed and apportioned to the
several lots and pieces of ground liable therefor according to law and as provide d
for in the ordinances of the City of Salina relating thereto, of which amount the
sum of $3,489.19 has been paid brl the owners of the property liable therefor, leav-
ing a balance for which bonds a. -ill be issued in the sum of $36,693.03
WdEREAS, the total cost of the said Storm Seger has been ascertained in the amount
of $7,341.60 to be paid by general taxes to be levied upon all taxable property
within said city; and for which bonds are to be issued; and
WHEREAS, bcnds in the aggregate sum of W,034.63 are to be issued bo pay the
actual net cost thereof; 1407T UEREFORE,
BE IT 0RDAI1dED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina, Kansas:
Section 1. That the foregoing preambles are hereby adopted and made a part
of this ordinance and that for the purpose of providing funds to pay the cost of
the improvements, hereinbefore described, there shall be issued and there hereby
are issued, Internal Improvement Bonds of the City of Salina, Kansas, in the total
principal sum of $44,034.63, -which issue shall consist of 44 bonds numbered from
1 to 44, inclusive, all dated August 1, 1952, which shall bear interest at the

until the respective maturities of said bonds, payable semi-annually on February
lst and August 1st of each year to be evidence b,- interest: coupons as herein pro-
vided for and said bonds shall become due serially in denaninations as follows:
i
Bonds numbered 1 to 11 for $1,000.00 each except Munber 1
is for $1,034.63, due August 1, 1953.
Bonds numbered 12 to 22 for $1,000.00 each, due August 1,
1954.
Bonds numbered 23 to 33 for $1,000.00 each, due August 1,
1955.
Bonds numbered 34 to 44 for $1,000.00 each, due August 1,
1956.
Section 2. Said bonds shall be signed by the 19eyor and shall be attested by the
signature of the City Clerk and the corporate seal of the City. shall be affixed
thereto, and shall have attached thereto interest coupons representing the interest
thereon, vhich coupons shall be in the form provided by law and shall bear the
printed or lithographed facsimile signatures of the Mayor and City Clerk of said
cit'17* and said bonds and interest €bupons shall be registered in the offices of
the City Clerk and the State Auditor as required by law.
Section 3. Said bonds shall be designated as Series S-155 and shall be in the
form and shall contain recitals substantially as follows, to writ=

K10W ALL I&N BY THESE PRESENTS, That the City of Salina, in the County of Saline,
State of Kansas, acknowledges itself to be indebted and for value received hereby
promises to pay to the bearer the sum of

per cent per annum, payable semi-annually on the first dasrs of February and
_4uust in each year, on ;:resentation and surrender of the interest coupons hereto
annexed as said coupons severally become due, both principal and interest of this
bond being payable at the office of the State Treasurer of the State of Kansas,
in the City ofTopelca, Kansas. And said City of Salina, Kansas, is held and firm;
bound by these presents and the full faith, credits and resources of said city
are hereby irrevocably pledged for the payment of said principal and interest at
maturity.
This bond is one of a series of 44 bonds of like date and tenor, excepting
denomination and maturity, aggregating the principal sura of $44,034.63, issued by
the City of Salina, Kansas, for the purpose of p4, ing th iTo�t constructing a
rain sanitary severs and certain lateral sanitary sevre 44, say city by the auth-
orit,- of and in full compliance -lith the provisions, restrictions and li-nitations
of the constitution and lazes of the State of Kansas, including Sections 10-101
to 10-126, Sections 12-617 to 12-620, Sections 12-626 to 12-629, and Sections
13-1013 to 13-1018, all in the General Statutes of Kansas, 1949, and amendments
thereto, and all other provisions of the lazes of said state applicable tnereto,
and this bond and all othor bonds of this series, all interest thereon, are to
be paid by the City of Salina, Kansas.
And it is hereby declared and certified that all acts, conditions and things
required to be done and to exist precedent to and in the issuance of this bond
have been properly done and performed and do exist in due and regular form and
manner as required by the constitution and laws of the State of Kat sas, and that
the total indebtedness of said city, including this series of bonds, does not
exceed any constitutional or statutory limitat ions .
IN WITNESS hEIREOF, the said City of Sal ina, Issas, has executed this bond by
causing it to be signed by its Mayor and its corporate seal to be hereto affixed,
attested by its City Clerk and the coupons hereto attached to be signed with the
facsimile signatures of said officers, and this bond to be dated the first day of

Section 4. The I;�Iayor and Cit -r Clerk are hereby authorized and directed to prepare
c
and execute the bonds hereinbefore described and to advertise to and sell the
same in the manner provided by law, and, rhen duly executed and roistered, to
deliver said bonds to the purchaser or purchasers thereof.
Section 5. The full faith, credit and resources of the City of Salina, Kansas,
shall be and the same are hereby irrevocably pledged for the prompt payment of
said bonds and all interest thereon. The Board of Commissioners of the City
of Salina, Kansas, shall annually make provisions for the payment of the principal
and interest on said bonds, the same become due by lerying taxes and assessments
upon the propaty liable therefor as provided by law.
Section 6. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force frcan and after its
publication in the official city paper.
