AN ORDINANCE ratifying; and confirming a contract with H. J. Taylor Construction Company
for the construction of certain Lateral Sanitary Sewers in the City of Salina, heretofore
designated as Lateral Sanitary Sewer Districts 276 and 277, and providing for the issuance
of temporary notes to pay the cost thereof, pending issuance and sale of bonds.

BE IT ORDAINED BY the Board of Commissioners of the City df Salina, Kansas:
Section 1. That the acceptance by the City of Salina of the proposal of H. J.
Taylor Construction Company, hereinafter referred to as the "contractor" as submitted
to the Board of Commissioners on June 9, 1952, which is hereby found to be the lowest

end best bid for such work, and the contract awarded by the Board of Commissioners of
said city to said contractor and signed on behalf of the city by its Mayor on June 13,

1952, for the construction of certain public improvements in the City ofSalina, to-tivit:
An eight inch clay pipe sewer beginning at
j an existing manhole in alley first north of
Woodlawn and 50 feet west of the east line
of Pershing Street; thence west in right-
of-vmy on north line of Lot 6, Block 1,
Pershing Heights Addition 228 feet, more or
less, to the northwest corner of said Lot
6; thence south along right-of-way 270 feet,
more or less, to the northwest corner of
Lot 16 of said Block and Addition; thence
west along right -of -Reay 60 feet; more or
less, to the northwest corner of Lot 15,
of said Lot of said Addition; thence south
along right-of-way 205 feet, more or less,
to the center line of Cloud Avenue where
a manhole will be constructed which will be
the terminus of server lateral 276.
An eight inch clay pipe sewer beginning at
an 8 inch sewer stub which exists in Rahm
Strebt and 50 feet west of the center line
of Rahm; thence west along the center line
of Rahm Street 445 feet, more or less, to
the center line of Third Street where a
manhole will be constructed which will be
the tendnus of Lateral Sewer 277.
at and for the unit price for said work contained in said proposal, which proposal and
contract are hereby referred to and made parts of this ordira nce, be and the same is
hereby ratified and confirmed, said proposal being within the estimated cost of said
improvements as shown by the sworn estimated of the City Engineer on file in the office
of the City Clerk, which estimates are hereby referred to and made a part of this ordi-

Section 2. Said improvements shall be built and constructed in accordance with
the plans and specifications therefore prepared by the City Engineer on, file in the
office of the City Clerk and in accordance with the proposal of said contractor and
under the terms of said contract, all of which are hereby referred to and made a part
of this ordinance.
Section 3. That temporary notes signed by the Mayor and attested by the City
Clerk be issued from time to time as the work progresses in the manner and form as
required by law, the total amount thereof not to exceed the contract price for such
work, such notes to bear interest at not to exceed 4j per cent per annum and to mature
not later than December 1, 1953, and to be issued in such amounts and at such times as
may the money for the payment of the cost of such work be required, such notes to be

issued to said contractor and to be redeemed and cancelled at the time that Internal
Improvement bonds are issued in lieu thereof.
Section 4. That this ordinance shall take effect and be in full force from
and after its ptiblisation once in the official city paper.
