That Section 13-1326, itevised Ordinances of the City of Salim;, Kansas, 1945, be and it is hereby amended to read as follows: "13-1326. Taxicab Rates. That the rates and fares for the transl_ortation of passengers in taxi -cabs li<_ensed by the City of ;Sal ina for trips within the City of i Salina, and ,r'iere t -,e point of origin or destination, or both, of the trip is within the City of Salina, shall be as follows: I (a) That for such purposes the city is hereby divided into three (3) zones II described as follows: (1) Zone 1 shall include all portions of the city lying between Pacific Street on the north, Broadway Boulevard (US El Highway) on the northwest and west, Crawford Street on the south and Ohio Street on east. (2) Zone 2 shall include all other portions of the area now or hereinafter in the city, except those specific portions in- cluded in Zone 3. (3) Z:..-ne 3 shall include the portion of the city lying north of North Street and east of Ohio Street and that portion of the city lying east of Iowa Street. (b) That the taxi -cab rates and fares ,wthin or through the zones aforesaid shall not exceed the following: (1) For trips within Zone 1, and 3, that do not cross another zone, 35¢ for first passenger and 15¢ for each add:it onal passenger on and off at the same place. (2) For trips from one place to within Zone 2 and another in Zone 2 that traverse Zone 1, 50¢ for first passenger and 15¢ for each additional person on and off at the same 'place. (3) For trips into or out of Zone 3 from or to another zone 65¢ for the first passenger, and 15¢ for each additional passenger on and off at the same place. (c) That the following trips and situations are excluded fron the zones, aforesaid, and maximum rates shall Le as follows: (1) Trips to and frora Union Station zones rates shall apply except that each additional passenger on and off the same place shall be 35¢. (2) L'or trips to or from SHAFB, 75¢ for t?ie first passenger and 25¢ for each additional passenger on and off the same place. (3) For trips to or fro -:i the Municipal Airport, for t :E3 first passenger $1.00, and 50¢ for each additional passenger on and off at same place. (4) For special cab (no passenger other than those accompanying the hirer), 75¢ within city limits. (5) Extra charge for luggage or parcels ,,rhen acroupanied by passenger; e -tra charge for luggage over two pieces of ordinary hand luggage, for each two extra pieces of hand luL g-az_ e, same charge as for additional passenger. For each extra large parcel (not carried in arms of passengers) same charge as for additional passenger. No more than sig, passengers can 1,e ca ,ried in any cab in one trip at any one brie. Not more than two passengers shall ride in the front seat. First passenger in cab is entitled to first delivery unless he consents to delivery of other passengers first, and no luggage or parcels shall be cal-Tied in the front seat with the dl•iver which will obstruct the driver's vision. If two or more persons in a taxicab ,:;ith different destination points, the passengers shall be delivered to their, destination in the order of their entry into the cab unless the passenger entitled to prior delivery consents to prior delivery of other passenger. i Every taxi-cab shall have posted in a conspicuous place within the cab a card shooing the rates provided herein andlicense number and naue of the owner and driver, printed or in type sufficiently large to be readable by passenger. Any charge made to passenger or ate other than those fixed in this orainance or any failure to comply with any provisions hereof, shall be deemed a violation of this article and shall subject the driver and owner of the cab to cancellation of their licenses at the discretion of the Board of Comr:issioners." Section 2, That Section 13-1326, Revised Ordi-ances of the City of Salina, 19.8, be and it is hereby repealed. Section 3. That this ohrdinanee shall be in fall force, and effect 60 days after its adoption and publication once each week for three consecutive weeks in the official city paper.
