AN ORDINANCE levying special assessments against certain property to pay the
cost of constructing certain water service pipes and sewer connections in
certain streets in the City of Salina, Kansas.
AREAS, the Board of Commissioners have heretofore ordered the owners of the
property hereinafter described to lay water service pipes from the water mains
j in the streets abutting thereon at the back of the curb line in said streets,
and sewer connections, prior to the paving thereof, and
WHEREAS, notice was duly given by publication in the official city paper of
said order and the owners of the property hereinafter described did not within
j thirty days after the last publication of said notice lay said water service
pipe and sewer connections and the city laid or caused the same to be laid, pur-
suant to Section 12-832 to 12-833 of the Revised Statutes of Kansas, 1935, and
the cost thereof has been ascertained, and remains unpaid by the property owners
liable therefore, NOW THEREFORE,

BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina, Kansas

Section 1. That there be and there is hereby levied and assessed against
each of such lots and parts of lots hereinafter described, a special tax or
assessment for the purpose of paying that part of the cost of constructing and
laying said water pipes and surer connections taxable against such lots and parts
ately certify the assessments made in Section 1 of this ordinance to the County
Clerk of Saline County, Kansas, to be placed upon the tax roll for collection,
subject to the same penalties and collected in like manner as other taxes.
Section 3. This ordinance shall take effect and be in full force from and
afters its publication once in the official city paper.

Section 2.
That the
City
Clerk is hereby directed and authorized to immedi-
ately certify the assessments made in Section 1 of this ordinance to the County
Clerk of Saline County, Kansas, to be placed upon the tax roll for collection,
subject to the same penalties and collected in like manner as other taxes.
Section 3. This ordinance shall take effect and be in full force from and
afters its publication once in the official city paper.
