AN ORDINADIICE ratifying and confirming a contract with H. J. Taylor Construction
Company for the construction of certain Lateral Sanitary Sewers in the City of
Salina heretofore designated as Lateral Sanitary Sewer Districts 272, 273, 274
and 275, and providing for the issuance of temporary notes to pay the cost there-
of, pending issuance and sale of bonds.
BE F..0 ORDARTM by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina, Kansas:
Section 1. That the acceptance by the City of SaLna of the proposal of
H. J. Taylor Construction Company, hereinafter referred to as the 'contractor"
as submitted to the Board of Commissioners on April 28, 1952, which is hereby
found to be the lowest and best bid for such work, and the contract; awarded by
the Board of Commissioners of said city to said contractor and signed on behalf
of the city by its Mayor on May 2, 1952, for the construction of certain public
improvements in the City of Salina, to wit:
An 8 inch clay pipe sewer beginning at an existing 8 inch
clay pipe sewer which is stubbed out 50 feet west of a
manhole in the intersection of Front Street and Anderson
Avenue; thence west in the center line of Anderson Avenue
473 feet more or less to the center line of Third Street,
there a manhole will be constructed which will be the term-
inus of Lateral 272.
An eight inch clay pipe sewer beginning at an existing man-
hole which is in right -of -fray first south of Republic Avenue
and 27 feet west of the Crest line of Roach Street, thence
east 60 feet more or less, to the center line of Roach;
thence south along the center line of Roach 326 feet; thence
east along right-of-way 663 feet to the center line of Lewis
Avenue there a manhole to be constructed which will be the
terminus of Lateral 273.
An eight inch clay pipe sewer beginning at an existing man-
hole in center line of Roach Street and center line of first
right-of-way south of Republic Avenue extended east; thence
north 158 feet, more or less, to the center line of Republic
Avenue; thence east 175.66 feet to center line of right-of-way
in Replat of Block 1, Hageman Park Addition; thence north along
said right -of -Tway 660 feet to the center line of Martin Avenue,
there a manhole to be constructed which will be terminus of
Lateral 274•
An eight inch clay pipe sewer beginning at an existing manhole
which is in the center line of Republic Avenue and center line
of first right-of-way east of Roach Street; thence east along
center line of Republic 306 feet to the center line of right-
of-way in Block 2, Replat of Hageman Park Addition; thence
north along said right-of-way 660 feet to the center line of
Martin Avenue, there a manhole to be constructed which will be
the terminus of Lateral 275*
at and for the unit price for said work contained in said proposal, which proposal
and contract are hereby referred to and made parts of this ordinance, be and the
same is hereby ratified and confirmed, said proposal being within the estimated
cost of said improvements as shown by the sworn estimate of the City Engineer
on file in the office of the City Clerk, which estimates are hereby referred to
and made a part of this ordinance.
Section 2. Said improvements shall be built and constructed -n accordance
with the plans and specifications therefore prepared by the City Engineer on file
in the office of the City Clerk and in accordance with the proposal_ of said con-
tractor and under the terms of said contract, all of which are hereby referred to
and made a part of this ordinance.
Section 3. That temporary notes signed by the Mayor and attested by the

City Clerk be issued from time to time as the work progresses in the manner and
form as required by law, the total amount thereof not to exceed the contract
price for such works such notes to bear interest at not to exceed 2 per cent
per annum and to mature not later than December 1, 1953, and to be issued in such
amounts and at such times as may the money for the pa,Nnnent of the cost of such

work be required, such notes to be issued to said contractor and to be redeemed
and cancelled at the time that Internal Improvement bonds are issued in lieu
thereof.
Section 4. That this ordinance shall take effect and be in full force
from and after its publication onee in the official city paper.
