AN ORL11b,", NCE ratifying and confirming a contract with the H. J. Taylor Construction
Company for the construction of certain curbing, guttering and. grading improvements
on certain streets in the City of Salina, and providing -lo:- the issuance of temporary
notes to pay the cost thereof pending the issuance and sale of bonds.

Section 1. That the acceptance by the City of Salina of tale proposal of the H. J.
Taylor Construction Company, hereinafter referred to as the "contractor" as submitted to
the Board of Commissioners on April 21, 1952, which is hereby found to be the lowest and

best bid for such work, and the contract awarded by the Board of Corrmlissioners of said
city to said contractor and signed on behalf of the City of Salina by the -ayor on April
22, 1952, for the construction of certain public improvements in the City of Salina,
Kansas, to -crit:
Curbing, guttering and grading of Beatrice Avenue from the center lite
of Repiblic Avenue to the center line of Martin Avenue, as provided by
Ordinance Nwuber 5634•
Curbing, guttering and grading of Lewis Avenue from the center lire of
Repuulic Avenue to tale center line of Martin Avenue, as provided by
Ordinance Number 5634.
Curbing, guttering and grading of Martin Avenue from the center line of
Sunrise Drive to the center line of Roach Street, as provided by
Ordinance Number 5634.
Curbing, guttering and grading of Norton Street from the north line of
Jewell Avenue to the south line of Ellsworth Avenue, as provided by
Ordinance Number 5634.
Curbing•, ;;uttering and grading of West side of Ohio Avenue from the
center line of Republic Avenue to the center line of Martin Avenue,
as provided by Ordinance Number 5634.
Curbing, guttering and grading of Pearl Avenue from the center live
of Republic Avenue to the center line of I-kxtin Avenue, as I:)rovide'd
by Ordinance Number 5634.
Curbing, guttering and gf'adi.ng of West side of Roach Street fro , the
center line of Kirwi.n Avenue to the center line of Ellsworth Avenue,
as provided by Ordinance Number 5634.
Curbing, guttering and grading of Roach Street from the center line of
Republic Avenue to the center line of Martin Avenue, as provided by
Ordinance Number 563;..
Garbing, gutterin- and �--rading on the North side of Rep bli r, Avenue
from the center line of Roach Avenue to the center line of Ohio Street,
as provided by Ordinance Number 5634.
Curbin-, guttering; and grading the south side of Republic Avenue from
the center line of Roach Avenue to the center line of Lewis Avenue, as
provided by Ordinance Number 5634.
Curbing, guttering and grading of Sunrise Exive from thenorth line of
Ki.rwin Avenue to the south line of Ellsworth Avenue, as provided by
Ordinance Number 5634,
at and for the unit price for said work contained in said proposal, which proposal and
contract are hereby referred to and made a part of this ordinance be and the same is
ratified and confirmed, said proposal being within the estimated cost of said improve-
ments as shoim by the sworn estimates of the City En.t_ineer on file in the office of the
City Clerk, which estimates are hereby referred to and made a part of this ordinance.
Section 2. Said improvements shall be built and constructed in accordance with
the plans and specifications therefor prepared by the City ,Engineer on file in the office
of the City Clerk and in accordance with the proposal of said contractor and under the
terms of the said contract, all of which are hereby referred to and made parts of this
ordinance.
Section 3. That temporary notes signed by the Mayor and attested by the City

Clerk be issued from time to time as the work progressed in the manner and famm as re-
quired by law., the total amount thereof not to exceed the contract- price for such work,
such notes to bear interest not to exceed 42 per center annum
P and to mature not later
than December 1, 1953 and to be issued in such a;abunts and at such time as money for the
payment of the cost of such notes to be issued to.said contractor and to be redeemed and
cancelled at the time that permanent bonds are issued in lieu thereof.
Section 4* This ordinance shall be in force and effect from and after its
publication in the of,'icial city paper.
