5631 Annexation_ - - ORDINANCE (Published in the Salina Journal 1952) AN ORDINANCE providing for the inclusion of certain land within the corporate limits of the City W Salina, prescribing the corporate limits of said city and repeal- ing Section 7 of Ordinance No. 5625. i 11HEREAS, all conditions precedent to the inclusions of certain land in the City of j Salina have come to pass, and now BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of the City Commissioners of the City of Salina, Kansas: I Section 1. That certain tract of land adjoining the corporate limits of the City of Salina, in Section 24, Township 14 south, Range 3 west of the Sixth Principal Meridian, and in Section 19, Township 14 south, Range 2 west of the Sixth Principal Meridian, in Saline County, Kansas, described as follows: Beginning at the northeast corner of Section 24, Township 14, Range 3 west of the Sixth Principal Meridian; trnence east 150 feet; thence south 1360 feet, more or less, thence west 172.4 feet; thence north 1360 feet; thence east 20.33 feet to the point of beginnings, be and it is hereby included within the corporate limits of said city, more than two -t irds of the west boundary line touches the boundary line of said city. Section 2. That a certain tract of land adjoining the corporate limits of the City of Salina, in Section 13, Township 11.E south, Range 3 west of the Sixth Principal Meridian, in Saline County, Kansas, described as follows: Beginning at a point which is 1400 feet west and 1160 feet north of the southeast corner of Section 13, Township 14, Range 3 west of Sixth Principal Meridian; thence west 1200 feet, more or less, to the center line of the Smoky Hill River; thence northeasterly 2200 feet more along the center line of Smoky Hill River to a point directly north of the place of beginning; thence south 710 feet, more or less, to the point of beginning, be and ._t is hereby included within the limits of the City of Salina, more than two-thirds of the west south and north boundaries of said tract touch the boundary line of said city. Section 3. That a certain tract of land adjoining the corporate limits of the City of Salina, in Section 13, Township 14 south, Range 3 west of the Sixth Principal Meridian in Saline County, Kansas, described as follows; Beginning at a point which is 300 feet west and 750 feet south of the northeast corner of the southeast quarter of Section 13, Town- ship 14$ Range 3 west of Sixth Principal Meridian, thence south and parallel to the east line of said Section 750 feet; thence west 1100 feet; thence north 750 feet; thence east 1100 feet, more or less, to the place of beginning, be and it is hereby incorporated with- in the limits of the City of Salina, more than two-thirds of the north and south boundaries touch the boundary line of said city. Section 4. That a certain tract of land adjoining the corporate limits of the City of Salina, Kansas in Section 13, Township 14, Ran#e 3 west of the Sixth Principal Meridian in Saline County, Kansas, described as follows; Beginning at the northeast corner of the southeast quarter of Section 13, Township 14, Range 3 west of the Sixth Principal Meridian- thence east 150 feet; thence south 26.0 feet, more or less, to the south line of Section 18, Township 14.4 Range 2 west of the Sixth Principal Meridian; thence west 150 feet to the south- east corner of said Section 13; thence north 1160 feet; thence west 300 feet, thence north 750 feet, thence east 300 feet, thence north 750 feet to the point of beginning, be and it is hereby included within the corporate limits of said city, more than two-thirds of the south and west boundaries of said tract touch the boundary line of said city. Section 5, That a certain tract of land adjoining the corporate limits of the City of Salina, Kansas in Section 13, Township 14, Range 3 west of the Sixth Principal Meridian and in Section 18, Township 14 south Range 2 west of the Sixth Principal Meridian in Saline County, Kansas, described as follows: Beginning at the point of intersection of the center line of the Smoky Hill River and the east line of Section 13, Township 14, Range 3 west of the Sixth Principal Meridian; thence southwesterly along center line of said river 600 feet, more or less, thence north 1480 feet; thence east 500 feet to the i i east line of said Section; thence south 160 feet more or less to the place of beginning, be and it is hereby included within the corporate limits of said city, that the boundary line of said city may be straight and har#onious. Section 6. That a certain tract of land adjoining the corporate limits of the City I of Salina, Kansas in Section 214, Township 11.4, Range 3 west of the Sixt$r Principal Meridian and Section 193 Township 14, Range 2 west of the Sixth Principal Meridian in Saline County, Kansas, described as follows: Beginning at the center line of Martin Avenue and the east line of Section 214, Township 1 4, Range 3 west of the Sixth Principal Meridian; thence east 150 feet; thence south and parallel to said Section line 1313 feet, more or less, to the center line of Minneapolis Avenue extended east; thence west 665 feet, more or less, to the center line of Lewis Avenue extended south; thence north 650 feet, more or less, to the center line of Republic Avenue extended east; thence east 650 feet, more or less to the east line of said Section; thence north along east line of said Section 663 feet to the place of beginning, be and it is hereby included within the corporate limits of said city, that more than two-thirds of the north and west boundaries of said tract touch the boundary line of said city. Section 7. That the corporate limits of the City of Salina be and the same are here- by extended to include the territory added to, taken into and made parts of said city under the provisions of the preceding sections of this ordinance, and that all of the land lying iiri.thin the following described boundary be and the same is hereby declared to be within the corporate limits of said city and made a part of said city, and that such corporate limits be and the sane are hereby defined, as follows: Commencing at a point on the center line of Ninth Street extended south, 770 feet south of the intersection of the center line of Ninth Street with the center line of Cloud Avenue, said intersection being the corner common to Section 23, 2143 25 and 26, Township 11.4 south, Range 3, west of the Sixth Principal Meridian in Saline County, Kansas, thence west 920 feet, thence north 770 feet to a"point on the center line of Cloud Avenue, thence west along the center line of Cloud Avenue, 7141 feet, thence north to the northwest corner of Park View Addition to said city; thence west along the south line of Highland Court Addition to the southwest corner of said addition; thence north along the west line of said addition to its intersection with the easterly line of the right-ofway of the Missouri. Pacific Railroad Company; thence north along the east line of said railroad right-of-way to its intersection with the center line of Republic Avenue, thence west along the center line of Republic Avenue to a point 165 feet west of the point of intersection of said center line with the west right-of-way line of US 81 by-pass; -(hence north parallel to the west right-of-way line of US 81 by-pass to a point on the center line of Walnut Street 165 feet west of the west right-of-way line of US 81 by-pass; thence west along the center line of Walnut Street to the center line of Dry Creek, thence in a northerly direction down the center of Dry Creek to the intersection of the center line of said creek with the center line of the channel of the Dry Creek cut-off channel as now established, being the first point of intersection of said lines lying north of Walnut Street; thence north along the center line of the channel of said Dry Creek cut-off channel as now established to its next intersection with the center line of Dry Creek as originally existing; thence down the center line of the channel of Dry Creek as originally existing to the point of intersection of said line with the center line of the channel of Dry Creek cut-off channel as now established, being the first point or intersection of said lines lying north of the main line vi.ght-ofway of the Union Pacific Railroad and lying adjacent to Block 10 in 8hicago Addition; thence northeasterly down the center line of the channel of the Dry Creek cut-off channel as now established to the next intersection of said line with the center line of Dry Creek; thence down the center line of Dry Creek as originally existing to its intersection with the west line of Pacific Addition, being the west line of the northwest quarter of the northeast quarter of Section 11, Township 14, Range 3, thence north along said line to the north line of said Section 11, thence east along said line of Pacific Avenue to the inter- section of said line of Pacific Avenue to the intersection of said line with the southwesterly line, extended southeasterly of Lots 1, 3 and 5 of Block 32 in Military Addition; thence northeasterly along said line and along the west line of Lots 7 and 9 in said Block 32, being the westerly boundary of said Block 32 in Military Addition; to the north- west corner of said Lot 9 in Block 32, thence due west 40 feet to a point; thence due north 132 feet to a point; thence due east 170 feet to east line of the alley in said Block 32, thence due north to the north line of Harsh Avenue in Military Addition; thence east along the north line of Harsh Avenue to the west line of Twelfth Street in Military Addition; thence north along the west line of Twelfth Street to the southwesterly line of the abandoned railroad right-of-way running through said Military Addition; thence east to a point in said abandoned right-of-way due south of the intersection of the northeasterly line of said right-of-way with the south line of Antrim Avenue; Section 8. That Section 7 of Ordinance Number 5625 be and it is hereby repealed. Section 9.
