5627 Confirm Bridge Improvement - Elm Street1 1 1 v1uj-"q*t"vz iv (Published in the Salina Journal 1952) AN ORDI:dANCE ratifying and confirming the contract of Thielen & :Mullen Construction Company for the building of a pile trestle bridge at the Elm Street crossing for the City of Salina, Kansas. BE IT ORDADI D by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina, Kansas. ! Section 1. That the acceptance by the City of Salina, Kansas of the proposal of Thielen & Mullen Construction Company, hereinafter referred to as "contractor" as sub- mitted to the said Board on February 18, 19522 is found to be the lowest and best bid for the work to be performed, Y and the contract awarded b the Board of Commissioners I j of said city to said contractor and signed on behalf of the City of Salina by its Mayor ! on February 21, 1952 for the building of a pile trestle bridge at the Elm Street cross- I Ing of Smoky Hill River at and for the unit prices for said work contained in said proposal, which pzpposal and contract is hereby referred to amd made part of this ordinance be and the same is hereby ratified and confirmed, said proposal being within the i estimated cost of said improvements as shown by the sworn estimates of a competent engineer for such purpose and being on file in the office of the City Clerk, which esti- j mates are herebyreferred to and made parts of this ordinance. i Section 2. Said improvements shall be built, constructed and completed in accordance i with the plans and specifications therefor prepared by the City Engineer for such purpose and on file in the office of the City Clerk and in accordance with the respective proposal of said contractor and under the terms of said contract, all of which are in- corporated in this ordinance by reference. Section 3. That temporary notes signed by the Mayor and attested by the City Clerk be issued from time to time as the work progresses in the manner and form as required by law, the total amount thereof not to exceed the contract price for such work, such notes to bear interest at not to exceed 42 per centA per annum and to mature not later than December 1, 1953, and to be issued in such amounts and at such times as the money for the payment of the cost of such work be requiredj, such notes to be issued to said contractor and to be redeemed and cancelled at the time that Internal Improvement Bonds are issued in lieu thereof. Section 4. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force :from and after its i publication once in the official city paper.
