tion of certain lateral sanitary sewers in the City of Salina heretofore designated
as. Lateral Sanitary Sewer District 268, and providing for the: issuance of temporary
notes to pay the cost thereof, pending issuance and sale of bonds.
BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina, Kansas.
Section 1. That the acceptance by the City of Salina of the proposal of 0. D.
Wilmoth, hereinafter referred to as the ttcontractor" as submitted to the Board of Com-
i missioners March 3, 1952, which is hereby found to be the lowest and best bid for such
work, and the contract awarded by the Board of Commissioners of said city to said con-
tractor and signed on behalf of the city by its Mayor on Nlarch 7, 1952, for the con-
struction of certain public improvements in the City of Salina., to -wit:
An eight inch clay pipe sewer, beginning at an existing manhole inStack
Avenue and on the center line of first alley east of Delaware Avenue ex-
tended north, thence south along center line of said alley 55.5 Meet more
or less, to the center line of an east and west alley first north of
Greeley Avenue, at this point a manhole to be constructed and a branch
line both east and west along center line of alley 105 feet both east
and west which will be terminus of said sewer,

at and for the unit price for said work contained in said proposal, which proposal and
contract are hereby referred to and made parts of this ordinance, be and the same is

hereby ratified and confirmed, said proposal being within the estimated cost of said
improvements as shown by the sworn estimate of the City Engineer on file in the office

of the City Clerk, which estimates are hereby referred to and made a part of this
ordinance.
Section 2. Said improvements shall be built and constructed in accordance with

the plans and specifications therefore prepared by the City Engineer on file in the
office of the City Clerk and in accordance with the proposal of said contractor and
under the terms of said contract, all of which are hereby referred to and made a part
of this ordinance.
Section 3. That temporary notes signed by the Ptayor and attested by the City Clerk
be issued from time to time as the work progresses in the manner and form as required
by law, the total amount thereof not to exceed the contract price for such work, such
notes to bear interest at not to exceed 42 percent per annum and to mature not later
than December 1, 1953, and to be issued in such amounts and at such times as may the
money for the payment of the cost of such work be required, such notes to be issued to
said contractor and to be redeemed and cancelled at the time that Internal Improvement
Bonds are issued in lieu thereof.
Section 4. That this ordinance shall take effect and be in full force frcm and
after its publication once in the official city paper.
