AN ORDINANCE providing for the inclusion of certain land within the corporate limits
of the City of Salina, prescribing the corporate limits of said city and repeal-
ing Secti n 4 of Ordinance No. 5608.
WHENAS, all conditions precedent to the inclusions of certain land in the City of
Salina have come to pass, and now
BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina, Kansas:
Section 1. That certain tract of land adjoining the corporate limits of the City of
Salina, in Section 24, Township 14 south, Range 3 west of the Sixth Principal Meridian,
in Saline County, Kansas, being a part of Hageman Park Addition, described as follows:
Commencing at a point which is the intersection of the center line of Lewis Avenue and
Martin Avenue, thence north along the center line of Lewis Avenue 693 feet, thence east
822.4 feet to a point 150 feet east of the east line of Section 24, Township 14, Range 3,
west of the Sixth Principle Meridian, thence south on a line which is 150 feet east and
parallel to said section line 693 feet to the center line of Martin Street extended east,
thence west 822.4 feet, more or less, to the point of beginning, be and it is hereby in -
eluded within the corporate limits of said city, said tract having been platted into lots
and blocks as a part of Hageman Park Addition to said city.
Section 2. That a certain tract of land adjoining the corporate limits of the City
of Salina, in Section 24, Township 14 south, Range 3 west of the Sixth Principal Meridian,
in Saline County, Kansas, described as follows: Beginning at the point of intersection of
a line 670.33 feet west of the east line of Section 24, Township 14, Range 3 west of the
Sixth Principal Heridian and a line 30 feet south of the north line of said section, thence
east and parallel to the north line of said Section 650 feet; thence south and parallel
to the east line of Section 1330 feet thence west 650 feet, thence north 1330 feet, more
or less, to the place of beginningv be and it is hereby included within the limits of the
City of Salina, more than two-thirds of the west boundary of said, tract touches the
boundary line of said city.
Section 3. That a certain tract of land adjoining the corporate limits of the City of
Salina, in Section 24 and Section 13, all in Township 14, south, Range 3 west of the
Sixth Principal Meridian in Saline County, Kansas, described as follows: Beginning at the
point of intersection of a line 670.33 feet west of the east line of Section 242 Township
14$ Range 3 west of the Sixth Principal Meridian and a line 30 feet south of the north
line of said Section, thence north 564 feet, more or less, to the center line of Smoky
Hill River, thence in a northeasterly direction along center line of said river 850 feet,
more or less, to the east line of Section 13, Township 14, Range 3 west of Sixth Principal
Meridian, thence south along said section line 960 feet to the southeast corner of said
Section 13, thence south 30 ft. thence west parallel to the south line of said Section 13,
670.33 feet to the place of beginning, be and it is hereby incorporated within the limits
of the City of Salina, said tract having been platted with lots and blocks as a part of
Garden Home Addition to said city.
Section 4. That a certain tract of land adjoining the corporate limits of the City
of Salina, Kansas in Section 13., Township 14., Range 3 west of the Sixth Principal Meridian
in Saline County., Kansas., described as follows: Beginning at a point 1160 feet north and
500 feet west of the southeast corner of Section 13s Township 14., Range 3 west of the
Sixth Principal Meridian; thence south 480 feet., more or less., to the center line of
Smoky Hill River., thence in a westerly direction 2200 feetJ, more or lessJ, along the center I
line of said river to the intersection of center line of said river and a line parallel
to and 1160 feet north of the south line of said Section 132 2100 feet2 more or less, to
the point of beginning# be and it is hereby included within the corporate limits of said
city, more than two-thirds of the south and west boundaries of said tract touch the
boundary line of said city.
Section 59 That a certain tract of land adjoining the corporate limits of the City
of Salina, Kansas in Section 132 Township 14., Range 3 west of the Sixth Principal Meridian
in Saline County., Kansas., described as follows: Beginning at the point of intersection of
the center line of the Smoky Hill River and the south line of the northeast quarter of
Section 13., Township 14, Range 3 west of the Sixth Principal Meridian; thence east 850
Beet, more or less, to the east line of said Section; thence south 750 feet; thence west
1200 feet., more or less to the center line of said river; thence northeasterly along
center line of said river 900 feetp more or less, to the point of beginningv be and it is
hereby included within the corporate limits of said city, moreth two-thirds of

the north and west boundaries of said tract touch the boundary line of said city*
Section 6. That a certain tract of land adjoining the corporate limits — its of the City
of Salina., Kansas in Section 25., Township 14., Range 3 west of the Sixth Principal Meridian
in Saline County., Kansasq described as follows: Beginning at a point 770 feet south and
57.3 feet east of northwest corner of the northwest quarter of Section 25, Township 14,
Range 3 west of the Sixth Principal Meridian; thence east parallel to the north line of
said Section 1513,3 feet to the west right-of�ray line of Union Pacific Railroad; thence
south along said railroad right-of-way line 550 feet; thence east 17 feet along said
right-of-way line., thence south 280 feet along said right-of-imy line thence west 1527
feets more or lessp to the east right-of-way line of U. S. 81 Highway; thence north along
said highway right-of-way line 830 feet., more or less., to the point of beginning, be and
it is hereby included within the corporate limits of said city., that the owners of said
tract did petition the governing body of said city to incorporate the same within the
limits of said city.
Section 7. That the corporate limits of the City of Salina be and the same are hereby
extended to include the territory added toe taken into and made parts of said city under
the provisions of the preceding sections of this ordinancep and that all of the land lying
within the following described boundary be and the same is hereby declared to be within
the corporate limits of said city and made a part of said city., and that such corporate
limits be and the same are hereby defined, as follows:
Commencing at a point on the center line of Ninth Street extended south,
770 feet south of the intersection of the center line of Ninth Street
with the center line of Cloud Avenue, said intersection being the corner
common to Section 23, 24, 25 and 26, Township 14 south, Range 3, west of
the Sixth Principal Meridian in Saline County, Kansas, thence west 920
feet, thence north ?70 feet to a point on the center line of Cloud Avenue,
thence west along the center line of Cloud Avenue,741feet, thence north
to the northwest corner of Park View Addition to said city; thence west
along the south line of Highland Court Addition to the southwest corner
of said addition; thence north along the west line of said addition to
its intersection with the easterly line of the right-of-way of the
Missouri Pacific Railroad Company; thence north along the east line of
said railroad right-of-way to its intersection with the center line of
Republic Avenue, thence west along the center line of Republic Avenue
to a point 165 feet west of the point of intersection of said center
line with the west right-of-way line of US 81 by-pass; thence north
parallel to the west right-of-way line of US 81 by-pass to a point on
the center line of Walnut Street 165 feet west of the west right-of-way
line of US 81 by-pass; thence west along the center line of Walnut Street
to the center line of Dry Creek, thence in a northerly direction down the
center of Dry Creek to the intersection of the center line of said creek
with the center line of the channel of the Dry Creek cut-off channel as
now established, being the first point of intersection of said lines
lying north of Walnut Street; thence north along the center line of the
channel of said Dry Creek cut-off channel as now established to its next
intersection with the center line of Dry Creek as originally existing;
thence down the center line of the channel of Dry Creek as originally
existing to the point of intersection of said line with the center line
of the channel of Dry Creek cut-off channel as now established, being
the first point or intersection of said lines lying north of the main
line right-of-way of the Union Pacific Railroad and lying adjacent to
Block 10 in Chicago Addition; thence northeasterly down the center line
of the channel of the Dry Creek cut-off channel as now established to
the next intersection of said line with the center line of Dry Creek;
thence down the center line of Dry Creek as originally existing to its
intersection with the west line of Pacific Addition, being the west line
of the northwest quarter of the northeast quarter of Section 11, Township
14, Range 3, thence north along said line to the north line of said
Section 11, thence east along said line of Pacific Avenue to the inter-
section of said line of Pacific Avenue to the intersection of said line
with the southwesterly line, extended southeasterly of Lots 1, 3 and 5
of Block 32 in Military Addition; thence northeasterly along said line
and along the west line of Lots 7 and 9 in said Block 32, being the
westerly boundary of said Block 32 in Military Addition; to the north-
west corner of said Lot 9 in Block 32, thence due west 40 feet to a
point; thence due north 132 feet to a point; thence due east 170 feet
to east line of the alley in said Block 32, thence due north to the
north line of Harsh Avenue in Military Addition; thence east along
the north line of Harsh Avenue to the west line of Twelfth Street in
Military Addition; thence north along the west line of Twelfth Street
to the southwesterly line of the abandoned railroad right-of-way running
through said Military Addition; thence east to a point in said abandoned
right -of -moray due south of the intersection of the northeasterly line of
said right-of-way with the south line of Antrim Avenue; thence north
through saidpoint of intersection to the north line of Antrim Avenue;
thence east along the north line of Antrim Avenue to the west line of
Eleventh Street in Military Addition; thence north along said line, and
said line extended north, through Tucker Park, to the intersection of
said line with the center line of Euclid Avenue, being the center line,
running east and west, of Section 22 Township 14, Range 3, thence east
along the center line of said Section 2 to a point 159.6 feet west of
the southeast corner of the northeast quarter of said Section 2, Town-
ship 14, south, Range 3 west of the Sixth Principal Meridian; thence
north 395 feet, more or less, to a point in the center of the original
channel of Dry Creek (as heretofore existing) thence northerly and
westerly up the center of the original channel of Dry Creek to its
intersection with the north line of the south half of the northeast
quarter of said Section 2; thence east to a point 106.1 feet west of
the east line of the northeast quarter of said Section 2; thence south
237.8 feet; thence east 45 feet; thence south 512 feet; thence east 5

point in the south line of the northeast quarter of said Section 2

west quarter of Section 1, Township 14, Range 3, being the center line of

line of Section 12, Township 14, Range 3, being the center line of Front
Street, to the south line of the main line right-of-gray of the Union Pacific
Railroad Company, thence northeasterly along the southerly line of said
railroad right-of-way to the east line of said Section 12, thence south
along said line, being the center line of Ohio Avenue, to the center of
the channel of the Smoky Hill River; thence southeasterly down the center
of the channel to said river to its intersection with the east line of
Lot 2 in Surveyor's Plat No. 18; thence south along said east line of said
Lot 2 to the north line of Section 18, Township 144 Range 2; thence east
along the north line of said Section 18 to the northeast corner of said
section, thence continuing east along the north line of Section 17, Town-
ship 14, Range 2 to a point 1880 feet east of the northwest corner of said
Section 17, being the northeast corner of Country Club Heights, thence
southerly and westerly along the boundary line of Country Club Heights to
a point 214 feet north and 627.3 feet east of the southeast corner of the
northwest quarter of the northwest quarter of said Section 17; thence south
2111 feet; thence west 627.3 feet along the boundary line of said Country
Club Heights to the southwest corner of the northwest quarter of said
Section 17, being the southwest corner of said Country Club Heights, thence
