AN ORDINANCE providing for the calling and holding of an election of the qualified
electors of the City of Salina, Kansas to vote upon the question of authorizing
the Board of Commissioners of said city to issue general obligation bonds of the
City in the amount of ;;,25,000.00 for the purpose of paying the cost of equipping
the public library of said city.
T.k_-BRE`S, the Board of Commissioners of the City of Sauna, Kansas, deems it necessary
to equip the public library of said city; and
.dHl:i11S, the cost of so equipping said library will not exceed $2,5,,'000.'00 end
MIU So it is necessary to issue general obligation bonds of the city, payable by a
general tax to pair the cost of so equipping said public library; and
irEILHAS, it is necessary before said bonds may be legally issued to submit the proposition
of issuing the same for said purpose to the qualified electors of said city at an
election to be held within 30 days from the date of the adoption and publication of this
ordinance; and
?r:'i-IhREAS, the City of Salina is a city of the first class and the issuance of said �.onds
and others now contemplated will not create a debt in excess of the limit now provided
by law; and so, NO1i ' HLREFORE
BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of th6 City of Salina, Kansas.
Section 1. That the preambles of this ordinance are hereby incorporated herein and
that an elect:_on is hereby called to be held in the City of Salina, Kansas Tuesday
fgbruary 19th 1952, between the hours of 6:00 o'clock A. Me and 7:00 o'clock P. M.
of said day, and within 30 days after the adoption and publicat__on of this ordinance
according to law and that such election be held at the usual place of holding elections
and shall be donducted by the officers or persons provided by law for holding elections
in said City of Salina, Kansas, and that a majority of the Board of Commissioners of the
City of Salina, Kansas, being the �-overning body thereof, shall and are hereby ordered
and directed to publish notice of said election in the manner and form directed and re-
ouired by Section 10-120 General Statutes of Kansas, 19.9, and that the purpose of calling
said election is to submit to the qualified electors of said city the proposition of the
issuing of general oblii:ation bonds of said city, payable by a gene --al tax levy, in the
amount of w�'25,000.00 to pay tie cost of equipping the public library of said city, as
more particularly set forth in Section 2 hereof.
Section 2. That the proposition to be voted upon by the qualified electors of said
city at said election shall be substantially the following:
