AN ORD11 DICE ratifying and confirming a contract with the H. J. Taylor Construction
Company for the construction of certain paving and ;trading improvements on certain
streets in the City of Salina, and providing for the issuance of temporary notes
to pay the cost thereof pending the issuance and sale of bonds.
BE I`1' URLIPMIM by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina, Kansas:
Section 1. That the acceptance by the City of Salina, Kansas, for the proposal of
the H. J. Taylor Construction Co,ipany, hereinafter referred to as the "Contractor" as
submitted to the Board of Commissioners on December 10, 1951, which is hereb.- found to
be the lowest and best bid for such work, and the contract awarded by the Board of Com-
missioners of said city to said contractor and signed on behalf of the City of Salina
by its Mayor on December 1.4, 1951, for the construction of certain p-.:blic improvements
in the City of Salina, to -wit:
Curbing, ;uttering, paving and grading, for a width of
twenty-eight (2£) feet, Fifth Street from the north line
of Pacific Avenue to the north line of Harsh Avenue, as
provided by Ordinance No. 5599.
Paving and gradjsg of Reynolds Street fro_a the south
line of Grand Avenue to the north line of Broadway
Boulevard,2om as provided by Ordinance No. 5599.
Pavin.` and grading of Republic Avenue fro..1 the east
line of Q,Lincy Street to the east line of Sunrise
Lrive, as provided by Ordinance No. 5599.
Paving and grading of Sheridan Street from the south
line of Venango Street to the north line of Illinois
Street, as provided by Ordinc:.nce 5509,

improvements as shown by the sworn esti�iates of the City Lhgineer on file in the office
of the City Clerk, w_ich estimates are hereby referred to and made a part of t_ii s ordinance.
Section 2. Said improveiaents shall be built and constructed :in accordance with the
plans and specifications therefor prepared by the City hngineer on file in the office of
the City Clerk and in accordance with the proposal of said contractor and under the terms
of said contract, all of hich are Ilereby referred to and made parts of this ordinance.
Section 3. That temporary notes signed by the Playor and attested by the City Clerk
be issued from time to tL.:e as the cork progresses in the manner anrd fO-,Ta as recyuired by
law, the total amount thereof not to exceed the contract price for such work, such notes
to bear interest not to exceed 11-2 per cent per annum and to mature not later than June 1,
1953, and to be issued in such amounts and at such time as mone;r for the payment of the
cost of such notes to be issued to said contractor and to be redeemed and cancelled im
at the tiiae that permanent bonds are issued in lieu thereof.
Section 4. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after its pub-
licati n in the official city paper.
