Section 1. That the acceptance of the Ci
ty of Salina, Kansas, of the proposal
Of H. J. Taylor Construction Company, hereinafter referred to the as the "contractor"
as submitted to the Board of Commissioners on February9 1953
, ,which is hereby

found to be the lowest and best bid for such work, and the contract awarded by the

Board of Commissioners of said city to said contractor and signed on behalf of the
City by its Mayor on February 16, 1953, for the construction of certain public
i
improvements in the City of Salina, Kansas, to -+wit?
Beginning at an existing manhole in Roach Street and
20 feet west of the center line of right -of-, y in
Block 50 Claflints Addition; thence south 652 Peet
parallel and 20 feet from the east line of Roach Street;
thence east along the center line of right -of -Tway for
utilities 1313 feet where a manhole will be constructed
which will be the terminus of Lateral Number 292,

at and for the unit price for said work contained in said proposal, which proposal

and contract are herebyreferred to and made a
Dart of this ordinance, be and the
same is hereby ratified and confirmed, said proposal being within the
estimated
cost of said improvements is shown by the sworn estimates of the
City Engineer on
file in the office of the City Clerk, which estimate is hereby referred to and
made a part of this ordinance.
Section 2. Said improvements shall be built and constructed in accordance
with the plans and specifications therefore prepared by the City Engineer on file
in the office of the City Clerk and in accordance with the
proposal of said con-
tractor and under the terms of said contract, all o£
s which are hereby referred to
and made a part of this ordinance,
Section 3. That temporary P ry notes signed by the Mayor and attested by the City
Clerk be issued from time to time as the work progresses in the manner and form
as required by law, the total amount thereof not to exceed the contract price of

,233.70 fbr such work, such notes to bear interest at not to exceed 42 per cent

per annum and to mature not later than December 1, 1954, and to be issued in such
!
amounts and at such times as may the money for the payment of the cost of such work
be required, such notes to be issued to said contractor
and
to be redeemed and can-
celled at the time that Internal Improvement Bonds are issued in lieu thereof.
Section 4. That this ordinance shall take effect and be in full force from
and after its publication once in the official city paper.
