AN ORDINANCE ratifying and confiniii-ng a contract with the L. W. Rexroad and Son
Construction Company for the construction of certain curbing, guttering and grading
improvements on certain streets in the City of Salina, and providinJ, for the issuance
of temporary notes to pay the cost thereof pending the issuance and sale of bonds.
BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina, Kansas:
Section 1. That the acceptance by the City of Salina of the proposal of the
L. W. Rexroad and Son Construction Company, hereinafter referred '_,o as the "Con—
tractor" as submitted to the Board of Commissioners on November 3, 1952, which is
hereby found to be the lowest and best bid for such work, and the contract awarded
by the Board of Commissioners of said city to said contractor and signed on behalf

of the City of Salina by the Iffayor on I1ovember 10, 1952, for the construction of
certain public improvements in the City of Salina, Kansas, to -wit:
Curbing, guttering and grading of Beatrice Avenue from
the center line of Republic Avenue to the center line
of Martin Avenue, as provided by Ordinance Number 5634.

Curbing, guttering and grading of Lewis Avenue from
the center line of Republic Avenue to the center line
of Martin Avenue, as provided by Ordinance Number 5634.
Curbing, guttering and grading of the west side of Ohio
Avenue from the center line of Republic Avenue to the
center line of Martin Avenue, as provided by Ordinance
Number 5634.
j Curbing, guttering and grading of Pearl Avenue from the
center line of Republic Avenue to the center line of
Martin Avenue, as provided by Ordinance Number 5634.

� Curbing, guttering and grading of Roach Street from
the center line of Republic Avenue to the center l_ne
of Martin Avenue, as provided by Ordinance Number 5634.
Curbing, guttering and grading of the north side of
Republic Avenue from the center line of Roach Avenue to
the center line of Ohio Street; and curbing, guttering
and grading the south side of Republic Avenue from the
center line of Roach Avenue/ ,,Re center line of LeWJ's
Avenue
at and for -the unit price for said work contained in said proposal,, which proposal
and contract are hereby referred to and made a part of this ordinance, be and the
same is ratified and confirmed, said proposal being within the estimated cost of
said improvements as shown by the sworn estimates of the City Engineer on file in
the office of the City Clerk, which estimates are hereby referred =lo and made a
part of this ordinance.
Section 2. Said improvements shall be built and constructed in accordance
with the plans and specifications therefor prepared by the City Engineer on file in
the office of the City Clerk and in accordance with the proposal of said contractor
and under the terms of said contract, all of which are hereby referred to and made
parts of this ordinance.
Section 3. That temporary notes signed by the Mayor and attested by the City
Clergy: be issued from time to time as the work progresses in the ma..ner and form as
required by law, the total amount thereof not to exceed the contract price for such
work, such notes to bear interest not to exceed 42 per cent per annum and to mature
not later than December 1, 1953, and to be issued in such amounts and at such time
as money for the payment of the cost of such notes to be issued to said contractor
and to be redeemed and cancelled at the time that permanent bonds .gyre issued in lieu
thereof.
Section 4. This ordinance shall be in force from and after its publication
