5732 Confirm Street ImprovementsORDINANCE NUMBER 5732 ro ASO DATED (Published in the Salina Journal �by • I� � _ 1952). AN ORDINANCE ratifying and confirming a contract with the H. J. Taylor Construction Company for the construction of certain curbing, guttering, paving and grading improvements on certain streets in the City of Salina, and providing for the issuance of temporary notes to pay the cost thereof pending the issuance and sale of bonds. BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina, Kansas: Section 1. That the acceptance by the City of Salina, Kansas, of the proposal of the H. J. Taylor Construction Company, hereinafter referred to as the "Contractor" as submitted to the Board of Commissioners on November 3, 1952, which is hereby found to be the lowest and best bid for such work, and the contract awarded by the Board of Commissioners of said city to said contractor and signed on behalf of the City by its Mayor on November 10, 1952, for the construction of certain public improvements I in the City of Salina, Kansas, to -wit: Curbing, guttering, paving and grading of University Street from the east line of the Missouri Pacific Railroad right-of- way, west 29 feet, more or less, to the east edge of ties on railroad track, as provided by Ordinance Number 5726. I i Paving and grading of Delaware Avenue from the north line of Iron Avenue to the south line of Johnstown Avenue, as pro- vided by Ordinance Number 5726. i Paving and grading of Delaware Avenue from the north line of Stapler Avenue to the north line of Gypsum Avenue as provided by Ordinance Number 5726. Paving and grading of Jewell Avenue from the east line of Quincy to the east line of Sunrise Drive as provided by Ord- inance Number 5726. Paving and grading of Minneapolis Avenue from the east line of Quincy Street to the east line of Norton Street, as pro- vided by Ordinance Number 5726. Paving and grading of Norton Street from the south line of Minneapolis Avenue to the south line � p of Ellsworth Avenue, as provided by Ordinance Number 5726. Paving and grading of Republic Avenue from the east line of Sunrise Drive to the west line of Roach Street, as provided by Ordinance Number 5726. Paving and grading of Woodland Avenue from the east line of Fourth Street to the east line of Third Street, as provided by Ordinance Number 5726. at and for the unit price for said work contained in said proposal, which proposal and contract are hereby referred to and made parts of this ordinance, be and the I same is hereby ratified and confirmed, said proposal being within the estimated cost of said improvements as shown by the sworn estimates of the City Engineer on file m I the office of the City Clerk, which estimates are hereby referred to and made a part of this ordinance. Section 2. Said improvements shall be built and constructed in accordance with the plans and specifications therefor prepared by the City Engineer on file in the office of the City Clerk and on accordance with the proposal of said contractor and I I under the terms of said contract, all of which are hereby referred to and made parts of this ordinance. Section 3. That temporary notes signed by the Mayor and attested by the City Clerk be issued from time to time as the work progresses in the manner and form as i required by law, the total amount thereof not to exceed the contract price for such COP!SC'._IGhTED-SSW N> work, such notes to bear interest not to exceed 4�- per cent per annum and to mature not later than December 1, 1953 and to be issued in such amounts and at such time as j i money for the payment of the cost of such notes being issued to said contractor and I to be redeemed and cancelled at the time that permanent bonds are issued in lieu thereof. Section 4.
