AN ORDINANCE ratifying and confirming a contract with H. J. Taylor Construction
Company for the construction of certain Lateral Sanitary Sever in the City of Salina,
Kansas, heretofore designated as Lateral Sanitary Sewer District Number 291 and pro-
viding for the issuance of temporary notes to pay the cost thereof, pending the
issuance and sale of bonds.
BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina, Kansas:
I
Section 1. That the acceptance of the City of Salina, Kansas, of the proposal
of H. J. Taylor Construction Company, hereinafter referred to as the "contractor"

as submitted to the Board of Commissioners on October 6, 1952, which is hereby found
to be the lowest and best bid for such work, and the contract awarded by the Board

of Commissioners of said city to said contractor and signed on behalf of the City
I
by its Mayor on October 13, 1952, for the construction of certain public improvempents
in the City of Salina, Kansas, to -unit:

An 8 inch clay pipe sewer beginning at an existing sewer at the center
j of the intersection of Front Street and Railroad Avenue;„ thence west
476 feet to the center line of first alley east of Third Street extend-
ed north; thence south on center line of said alley 394 feet to the
canter line of Lincoln Avenue, where a manhole will be constructed which
j will be the terminus of Lateral Number 291.

at and for the unit price for said work contained in said proposal, which proposal
aAd contract are hereby referred to and made parts of this ordinance be and the
same is herebyratified and confirmed said
, proposal being within the estimated
cost of said improvements as shown by the sworn estimate of the City Engineer on

file in the office of the City Clerk, which estimate is hereby referred to and
made a part of this ordinance.
Section 2. Said improvements shall be built and constructed in accordance
with the plans and specifications therefore prepared by the City Engineer on file
in the office of the City Clerk and in accordance with the proposal of said contract-
or and under the terms of said contract, all of which are hereby referred to and
made a part of this ordinance.

Section 3. That temporary notes signed by the Mayor and attested by the City
Clerk be issued from time to time as the work progresses in the manner and form
as required by h w, the total amount thereof not to exceed the contract price for
such work, such notes to bear interest at not to exceed 42 per cent per annum and
to mature not later than December 1, 1953, and to be issued in such amounts and
at such times as may the mon® for the

such notes to be issued to said contractor and to be d redeemed and cancelled at

the time that Internal Improvement Bonds are issued in lieu thereof.

Section 4. That this ordinance shall take effect and be in full force from
and after its publication once in the dfficial city paper.
