AN ORDINANCE ratifying and confirming a contract with Co N. McCollum, d/b%a McCollum
Construction Company for the construction of certain Lateral Sanitary Sewers in the
City of Salina, Kansas, heretofore designated as Lateral Sanitary Sewer Districts
Numbered 286, 287, 288, 289 and 290, and providing for the issuance of temporary
notes to pay the cost thereof, pending issuance and sale of bonds.
BE IT ORDAINED hy the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina, Kansas:
Section 1, That the acceptance by the City of Salina, Kansas, of the proposal
of C. N. McCollum, dAA McCollum Cors truction Company, hereinafter referred 6o as

the "contractor" as submitted to the Board of Cormissioners o:a September 22, 19520
which is hereby found to be the lowest and best bid for such work, and the contract
awarded by the Board of Commissioners of said city to said contractor and signed on
behalf of the city by its Mayor on September 29, 1952, for the constvuetion of certain

public improvements in the City of Salina, Kansas, to_wit;
An 8 inch clay pipe sewer, beginning at a manhole in the right -of -my
Of U. S. 81 Bypass and 85 feet south of the south line of Franklin
Street wctended west; thence east 266 feet where a manhole will be
constructed on right -of -,way for utilities; thence south on said right -
of -Way to the northeast corner of Lot 42, Block 5, Sunset Manor Addition,
thence east along right -of -pray for utilities 240 feet to the northwest
j corner of Lot 2,. Block 5, Sunset Manor Addition where a manhole will be
built which will be the terminus of Lateral Number 286,

An 8 inch clay pipe sewer beginning at an existing manhole in Woodland
Avenue and the center line of alley first east of Twelfth Street extended
north; thence west 330 feet to first alley east of Thirteenth Street;
thence south in said alley east of Thirteenth 390 feet where a manhole
will be constructed which will be the terminus of Lateral 289,

An 8 inch clay pipe seiner beginning at an 8 inch stub at the southwest
corner of Lot 210 Block 5, Sunset Manor Addition; thence east 243 feet
to right -of -gray for utilities; thence south 600feet along said right-
of-way to the southwest corner of Lot 2, Block 3, Sunset Manor Addition
where a manhole will be constructed which will be the terminus of

An 8 inch clay pipe sewer, beginning at an 8 inch stub at the southwest
corner of Lot 12, Block 3, Sunset Manor Addition, thence east 240 feet
to right -of -moray for utilities; thence south along said right-of-way
1142 feet to the center line of Republic Avenue where a manhole will be
constructed which will be the terminus of Lateral Number. 288,
An 8 inch clay pipe sewer beginning at an existing manhole in Republic
Avenue and on the center line of right-of-way for utilities first east
of Pearl Avenue, thence east along center line of ]republic Avenue 323
feet to the center line of right -sof -sway for utilities first east of
Lewis Avenue; thannee north along center line of said right-of-way first
east of Lewis Avenue 660 feet to the center line of Martin Avenue where
will be constructed a manhole which shall be the terminus of Lateral
Number 290*

coat of said improvements as shown by the sworn estimate of the City Engineer on
file in the office of the City Clerk# which estimate is hereby .referred to and made
a part of this ordinance.
Section 2. Said improvements shall be built and constructed in accordance with
the plans and specifications therefore prepared by the City Engineer on file in the

office of the City Clerk and in accordance with the proposal of said contractor and
under the terms of said contract, all of Which are hereby referred to and made a part
j of this ordinance.
Section 3. That temporary notes signed by the Mayor and attested by the City Clerk
be issued from time to time as the work progresses in the manner and form as required
by law, the total amount thereof not to exceed the contract price for such work, such
notes to bear interest at not to exceed
4, -per cent per annum and to mature not later
than December 1, 1953, and to be issued in such amounts and at such times as may the
money for the payment of the cost of such work be requiredl, such notes to be issued
to said contractor and to be redeemed and cancelled at the time that Internal Improve-
ment bonds are issued in lieu thereof.
Section 4. That this ordinance shall take effect and be in full force from and
after its publication once in the official city paper.
