5719 Confirm Pump Station ConstructionORDINANCE Ntl1UlBEli 5719 (Published in the Salina Journal 4" f , %�.P - , 1:952) AN ORDINANCE ratifying and confirming a contract with C. N. McCollum, d/b/a McCollum Construction Company, for the construction of a pumping station for the purpose of pumping the sewage of Main Sewer DH -A and extensions thereof into the existing sewer located at the intersection of the center line of Crawford Street with the center line of a north and south alley, first east of Second Street in order to conduct the sewage of Main Sewer DH -A to a point of outlet, and providing for the issuance of temporary notes to pay the cost thereof, pending issuance and sale of bonds. BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina, Kansasr Section le That the acceptance of the City of Salina, Kansas, of the proposal of j C. N. McCollum, a. A McCollum Construction Company, hereinafter referred to as the "contractor" as submitted to the Board of Commissioners on September 15, 1952, which is j hereby found to be the lowest and best bid for such work, and the contract awarded by the Board of Commissioners of said city to said contractor and signed on behalf of the City by its Mayor on September 22, 1952, for the construction of certain public improve- meats in the City of Salina, Kansas, to0wit: That a pumping station for the purpose of pumping sewage of Main Sewer DH -A and extensions thereof to the sewer now existing at the intersection of the center line of Crawford Street with the center line of the north and south alley first east of Second Street, be constructed in the manner provided by law* at and for the unit price for said work contained in said proposal, which proposal and contract are hereby referred to and made parts of this ordinance, be and the same is hereby ratified and confirmed, said proposal being within the estimated cost of said improvew nts as shown by the sworn estimates of Murrary A. Wilson, a duly qualified Civil Engineer, on file in the Office of the City Clerk and in accordance with the pro- posal of said contractor and under the terms of said contract, all of which are hereby referred to and made a part of this ordinancee Section 2. Said improvements shall be built and constructed in accordance with the plans and specifications therefore prepared by Murrary A. Wilson, a duly qualifad Civil Engineer, on file in the office of the City Clerk and in accordance with the proposal of said contractor and under the terms of said contract, all of which are hereby referred to and made a part of this ordinance. Sectibn 3. That temporary notes signed by the Mayor and attested by the Cit y Clerk be issued from time to time as the work progresses in the manner and form as required by law, the total amount thereof not to exceed the contract price for such work, such notes to bear interest at not to exceed 4 per cent per annum and to mature not later than December 1, 1953, and to be issued in such amounts and at such times as may the money for the payment of the cost of such work be required, such notes to be issued to said contractor and to be redeemed and cancelled at the time that Internal Improvement Bonds are issued in lieu thereof.
