5718 Confirm Pump Station Construction1 n 1 ORDINANCE NUMBER 5718 (Published in the Salina Journal r}� lQ - _ 1952 AN ORDINANCE ratifying and confirminga contract with H. for the construction of a J Taylor Construction Company Pumping station for the purpose of pumping the sewage of Lateral Sewer 285 and extension thereof, into the existing lateral sewer located in the center line of the north -south alley first east of Fifth Street in order to conduct the sewage of lateral sewer 285 to a point of outlet, and providing for the issuance of temporary notes to pay the cost thereof, pending issuance and sale of bonds. BE IT ORDAINED by the Bdard of CO miissioners of the City of Salina, Kansas: Section 1. That the acceptance of the City of Salina, Kansas, of the proposal of He J. Taylor Construction Company, hereinafter referred to as the "contractor" as submitted to the Board of Commissioners on September 15, 1952, which is hereby found ! Y i to be the lowest and best bid for such work, and the contract awarded by the Board of Commissioners of said city to said contractor and signed on behalf of the City by its j Mayor on September 22, 1952, for the construction of certain public improvements in the j City of Salina, Kansas, te.,*it: I I That a pumping station for the purpose of purring the sewage of Lateral Sewer 285 and the extensions thereof to the sewer now j existing in the north -south alley first east of Fifth. Street, be constructed in the manner provided by law* at and for the unit price for said work contained in said proposal, I Po 1, which proposal and i cop -tract are hereby referred to and made parts of this ordinance, be end the same is hereby ratified. and confirmed, said ro p posal being within the estimated cost of said improvements as shown by the sworn estiruate of the City Engineer on file in the office I of the City Clerk, which estimate is hereby referred to and made a part of this ord - nanca, i I Section 2- Said improvements shall be built and constructed in accordance with the plans and specifications therefore prepared by the Cit � y Engineer an file in the I Office of the City Clerk and in accordance with the proposal of said contractor and under the terms of said contract, all of which are hereby referred to and made a part of this ordinance. Section 3. That temporary notes signed by the Mayor and attested by the City Clerk be issued from time to time as the work progresses in the manner and form as provided by law, the total amount thereof not to exceed the contract price for such i work, such notes to bear interest at not to exceed 41 per cent per annum and to mature not later than December 1, 1953, and to be issued in such amounts and at such times as i may the money for the payment of the cost of such work be reauired, such notes to be i issued to said contractor and to be redeemed and cancelled at the time that Interaal Improvement Bonds are issued in lieu thereof. Section 4- That this ordinance shall take effect and be in full force from and i after its publication once in tete official city paper.
