AN ORDINANCE providing for the construction of a pumping station for the purpose of

BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina, Kansas:

Section is That the preambles hereof are herebyincorporated rporated herein. That a

provided for in Section 1 of this ordinance which shall be of the proper character

Board of Commissioners under oath, detailed estimates of the cost thereofand th>tt
thereafter the City Clerk shall advertise for three Consecutive days in the official
j city paper for sealed proposals for the building and construction of such pumping
station according to such plans and, specifications, which proposals shall be filed
with the City Clerk on or before the time fixed in such notice, at which time the
I Board of Commissioners may let a contract for the building and Construction of such
Pumping station to the lowest and best responsible bidder therefor; provided that such
bids shall not exceed the estimated cost thereof and provided further that said Board
shall reserve the right to reject any and all such proposals and that if no responsible
bids shall be received ed within said est
mated cost said Board may proweed and build
such Pumping station within such estimated cost.
Section & That for the payment of the cost of such work the building and con—

struction of said pumping station, the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina,
Kansas, shall issue improvement bonds of said city, inau amount not to exceed the
total Cost of such work and improvements, to be payable in four a

annual installments and to bear interest at not to exceed 510per annum from the date
of such bonds, and for the purpose of paying such bonds and interest as they severally

m ature, the Board of Co=dssioners shall annually levy a tax upon all real and perms

pr party in the City of Salina in an amount sufficient to pay the annual
installments of such principal and interest, and pending issuance and sale of bonds,
i
temporary notes shall be issued according to law, to pay the cost of said work.
Section 4. That before the pumping station herein provided for shall be con—
structed, the plans and specifications therefor shall first be submitted to the
Department of the Board of Health of the State of Kansas and be approved by such
department.
Section 5. This ordinance shall take effect and be in full force from and
after
its publication in the official city paper.
