AN ORDINANCE ratifying and confirming a contract with Rhoades Construction Comp-
any, Inc*, fox' the construction of certain lateral sanitary sewers in the City
of Salinas Kansas, heretofore designated as Lateral Sanitary Sewer Districts DH -33
to DH -41, ibolusive and providing for the issuance of temporary notes to pay the
cost thereof, pending issuance and sale of bondse

BE IT ORDAINED by the B oard of Commissioners of the City of Salina, Kansast
Section 1. That the acceptance of the City d'P Salina of the proposal of
Rhoades Construction Company, Inc., hereinafter referred to as the "contractor"
as submitted to the Board of Comsoi.ssioners on August 1S, 19520 which is hereby
found to be the lowest and best bid for such work, and the contract awarded by
the Board of Commissioners of said city to said contractor and signed on behalf
of the city by its ]Mayor on August I8, 1952, for the construction of certain pub -
lie improvements in the City of Salina, Kansas, to-witt
An 8 inch clay pipe sewer beginning in a =Mhole which is the
terminus of Main Sewer DH.A and located in the intersection of
Crawford Avenue and Chpotaer Drive and running south approximately
170 feet; thence west approximately 850 feet; thence south approx-
iMtely 105 feet; thenwe southwesterly approximately 120 feet;
thence south approximately 20340 feet; thence south approximately
890 feet where a manhole will be constructed which will be the
terminus of Lateral DH -33,
An 8 inch clay pipe sewer beginning in a manhole to be constructed
in Cypress Drive, midway between Comsnanche Drive and Birch Drive'
and running south approximately 105 feet; thence east approximately
276 feet; thence southeasterly approximately 580 feet; where a man-
hole will be constructed which will be the terminus of Lateral DH -34e
An 8 inch clay pipe sewer beginning in a manhole to be constructed
in the center of the easement and located near the southwest corner
of Lot 13, Block 2s Edgemere Addition, and running east approximately
80 feet, where a manhole will be constructed which will be the
terminus of Lateral DH -38,
An 8 inch V.C.P. clay pipe sewer beginning in a manhole to be const-
ructed in the center of the easement and located at the southwest
corner of Lot 21, Block 4, Edgemere Addition, and running south
approximately 1800 feet; thence southwesterly approximately 70 feet;
where a manhole will be constructed which will be the terminus of
Lateral DH -36,
An 8 inch clay pipe sewer beginning in a manhole to be constructed
in the center of the easement and located at the southeast corner
of Lot 12, Block 40 Edgemere Addition, and running east approximately
160 feet; thence southeasterly approximately 230 feet; thence south-
westerly approximately 165 feet; thence south approximately 1360 feet,
where a manhole will be construction which will be the terminus of
Lateral DH -37,
An 8 inch clay pipe sewer beginning in a manhole to be constructed
in Cypress Drive, midway between Birch Drive and Willow Drive and
running south approximately 1920 feet; thence southeasterly approx-
iaately 400 feet; thence east approximately 80 feet, where a manhole
will be constructed which will be the terminus of Lateral DH -38.
An 8 inch Y.C.P. clay pipe sewer beginning in a manhole to be con-
structed in the center of the easement and located at the southwest
corner of Lot 53, Block 6, Edgemere Addition, and running mo;eth approx-
imately 220 feet, where a manhole will be constructed which will be
the terminus of Lateral DH -39.
An 8 inch clay pipe sewer beginning in a Manhole to be constructed in
the center of the easement and located at the southwest corner of
Lot 18, Block 69 Edgemere Addition, and running east approximately
50 feet; thence southeasterly approximately 50 feet, where a
will be constructed which will be the terminus manhole
of Lateral DH -4m.
An 8 inch clay pipe sewer beginning in a manhole to be constructed in
the center of the easement and located at the southeast corner of Lot
12, Block 6, Edgsmsre Addition, and running north approximately 75
feet; thence northwesterly approximately 40 feet; where a manhole will
be constructed which will be the terminus of Lateral DH -41.

at and for the unit price for said work contained in said proposal, which proposal
and contract are hereby referred to and made parts of this ordinance, be and
the same is hereby ratified and confirmed, said proposal being 'within the estimated
cost of said improvements as shown by the sworn estimates of the City Engineer
on file in the office of the City Clerk, which estimates are hereby referred to
and made a part of this ordinance.
Section 2. Said improvements will be built and co� trucVf nc�` �` i�i

with the plans and specifications therefor prepared by219-IMMM on file
in the office of the City Clerk and in accordance with t he proposal of said con-
tractor and under the terms of said contract, all of which are hereby refarred to
and made a part of this ordinance.
Section 3. That temporary notes signed by the Mayor and attested by the
City Clerk be issued from time to time as the work progresses in the manner and
form as required by law, the total amount thereof not to exceed the contract price
for such work, such notes to bear interest at not to exceed 4 per cent per annum
and to mature not later than December 1, 1953, and to be issued in such amounts
and at such times as may the money for the payment of the cost of such work
be required, such notes to be issued to said m ntractor and to be redeemed and
cancelled at the time that Internal Improvement bonds are issued in lieu thereof.
Section 4e That this ordinance shall take effect and be in full force from
and after its publication once in the official city papers
