AN ORDINANCE ratifying and confirming a contract with the H. J. Taylor Construction
Company for the construction of certain eurbing, guttering and grading improvements
j on certain streets in the City of Salina, and providing for the issuance of temporary
notes to pay the cost thereof pending the issuance and sale of bonds.
BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina, Kansasr
Section 1. That the acceptancey y proposal of the

Curbing, guttering and grading of Charlotte Avenue (on the north
side) from the west line of Ninth Street Plaee to the center line
of Highland Avenue, and Charlotte Avenue (on the south side) from
the center line of Ninth Street Place to the center line of High-
land Avenueq as provided by Ordinance Number 5687.

at and for the unit price for said work contained in said proposal, which proposal
and oontract are hereby referred to and made a part of this ordinance, be and the
same is ratified and confirmed, said proposal being within the estimated cost of
said improvements as shown by the sworn estimates of the City Engineer on file in
the office of the City Clerk, which estimates are hereby referred to and madea
part of this ordinance.
Section 2. Said improvements shall be built and constructed in accordance
with the plans and specifications therefor prepared by the City Engineer on file
in the office of the City Clerk and in accordance with the proposal of said con.
traotor and under the terms of the said oontract, all of which are hereby referred
to and made parts of this ordinance.
Section 3. That temporary note sighed by the Mayor and attested by the City
Clerk be issued from time to time as the work progresses in the manner and form as
required by lair, the total amount thereof not to exceed the contract price for such
work, such notes to bear interest not to exceed 42 per cent per annum and to mature
not later than December 1, 1953, and to be issued in such amounts and at such time
as money for the payment of the oost of such notes to be issued to said contractor
and to be redeemed and cancelled at the time that permanent bonds are issued in
lieu thereof.
Section 4. This ordinance shall be in force from and after its publication
in the official city paper.
