5685 Confirm Utility Improvements1 ORDINANCE NUIMBER (Published in the Salina Journal AN ORDINANCE ratifying and confirming a contract with H. J. Taylor Construction Company for the construction of certain Intercepting Seger "AK" in the City of Salina, Kansas, heretofore designated as Intercepting Sewer "AA" District, and providing for the issuance of temporary notes to pay the cost thereof, pending issuance and sale of bondse BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina, Kansast Section 1. That the acceptance by the City of Salina of the proposal of H. J. Taylor Construction Company, hereinafter referred to as the "Contractor" as submitted to the Board of Commissioners on July 28, 1952, which is hereby found to be the low - eat and best bid for such work, and the contract awarded by the Board of Commissioners of said city to said contractor and signed on behalf of the City by its Mayor am July 28, 1952, for the construction of certain public improvements in the City of Salina, Kansas, to -wit: I Beginning in the intersection of Ash Street and Ohio Street in the City of Salina at a point intercepting the Ash Street main sanitary sewer, thence proceeding south in Ohio Street as a 24 -inch sewer 4,400 feet where the 24 -inch sewer terminates at a manhole to be tbmm constructed in that street; then oontinu- j ing south in said street as an 16-inoh sanitary sewer force main a distance of 471 feet to a point where a sewage pumping station is to be constructed, thence continuing south from said j pumping station in said street as a 24 -inch sewer a distance of 55W feet terminating at a msnhole to be there constructed at the point thereof, being located approximately 185 feet north of the center of Crawford Street, thence proceeding west from said manhole in and through utility right-of-way, alleys and streets as a 21 -inch sewer, a distance of 1,832 feet to the center line of Elmore Drive, thence south 175 feet as a 21 -inch sewer to a point in Crawford Street, thence west 811 feet as a 21 -inch sewer to the point of the intersection of the center line of Front Street and Crawford Street to an existing manhole and at a point of the interception of main sewer "Y" and that supplemental thereto an intercepting line shall be constructed as a 12 -inch sewer commencing at an existing manhole at the intersection of Fifth Street and Bond Street, being at a point of interception with main sewer "K", thence east in Bond Street 253 feet to an existing manhole at the intersection of Fourth Street and Bond Street where said 12 -inch line will intercept with Main Sewer "a" at and for the unit price for said work contained in said proposal, which proposal and contract are hereby referred to and made parts of this ordinance, be and the same is hereby ratified and confirmed, said proposal being tdthin the estimated cost of said improvements as shown by the sworn estimates of the City Engineer on file in the office of the City Clerk, which estimates are hereby referred to and made a part of this ordinance. i Section 2. Said improvements shall be built and constructed in accordance j with the plans and specifications therefore prepared by the City Engineer on file in the office of the City Clerk and in accordance with the proposal of said contractor and under the terms of said contract, all of which are hereby referred to and made a part of this ordinance. Section 3. That temporary notes signed by the Mayor and attested by the City Clerk be issued from time to time as the work progresses in the manner and form as required by law, the total amount thereof not to exceed the contract price forsuch work, such notes to bear interest at not to exceed 41 per cent per annum and to mature not later than December 1, 1953, and to be issued in such amounts and at such time as may the mon for the money payment of the Dost of such work be required, such notes to I O,,",ski _I,ATED— AUi!N be issued to said contractor and to be redeemed and cancelled at the time that Internal Improvement bonds are issued in lieu thereof. j Section 4.
