5795 Confirm Street ImprovementsORDINANCE NUMBER 5795 CON SO L , DAT D-SALIN (Published in the SilinaJournal AN ORDINANCE ratifying and confirming a contract with the H. J. Taylor Construction Company for the construction of certain curbing, guttering, paving and grading improvements on certain streets in the City of Salina, and providing for the issuance of temporary notes to pay the cost thereof pending the issuance and sale of bonds. BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina, Kansas: Section 1. That the acceptance by the City of Salina, Kansas, of the proposal of the H. J. Taylor Construction Company, hereinafter referred to as the "con- tractor" as submitted to the Board of Commissioners on July 20, 1953, which is hereby found to be the lowest and best bid for such work, and the contract awarded bythe Board of Commissioners of said city to said contractor aid signed on behalf of the City by its Mayor on July 27, 1953, for the construction of certain public improvements in the City of Salina Kansas, to -wit: Curbing,guttering and paving of Marietta Street from the west line of Clark Street to the east line of Chicago Street, as provided for by Ordinance Number 5791. Curbing, guttering and paving of Crawford Avenue from the east line of Missouri Pacific Railroad right-of- way to the center line of Broadway Boulevard, known as U. S. Highway N0.81 By -Pass, as provided for by Ordinance Number 5791. Paving and grading of Connecticut Avenue from the South line of Gypsum Avenue to the south line of Stack Avenue, as provided for by Ordinance Number 5791. Paving and grading of Kenison Road from the south line of Wilson Street to the south line of McAdams Road, as provided for by Ordinance Number 5791. Paving and grading of Oakdale Avenue from the north line of Ash Street to the south line of Elm Street, as provided for by Ordinance Number 5791. at and dor the unit price for said work contained in said proposal, which proposal and contractare hereby referred to and made parts of this ordinance, be and the same is hereby ratified andconfiemed, said proposal being within the estimated cost of said improvements as shown by the sworn estimates of the City Engineer on file in the office of the City Clerk, which estimates are hereby referred to and made a part of this ordinance. Section 2. Said improvements shall be built and constructed in accordance with the plans and specifications therefor prepared by the City Engineer on file in the office of the City Clerk and in accordance with the proposal of said con- tractor and under the terms of said contract, all of which are hereby referred to and made parts of this ordinance. Section 3. That temporary notes signed by the Mayor and attested by the City Clerk be issued from time to time as the work progresses in the manner and form as required by law, the total amount thereof not to exceed the amount of $84,331.39 for such work, such notes to bear interest not to exceed 4.2 per cent per annum, i and to mature not later than December 1, 1954, and to be issued in such anounts i and at such time as money for the payment of the cost of such notes being issued j to said contractor and to be redeemed and cancelled at the time that permanent i CcINsm,ro.rr- SALIN 1 F, bonds are issued in lieu thereof. Section 4. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after its adoptionand publication once in the official city paper.
