5783 Confirm Street Improvements - Crawford St1 1 1 ORDINANCE NUMBER 5783 (rublished in the Salina Journal �-- _ - _ -- -- AN CRDU11ACE ratifying and cenfcontract--- -- construction of certain curb 9 Butt a with Brown & Brown., Inc., it for the ,a gurovri� paving and grading imProvements on a certain street in the City of Salina, and providing for the issuance of temporary notes to p the cost thereof pending the issuance and sale of bonds. � BE IT (RMINED by the Board of Cosanissioners of the City of Salina, Kansas: Section 1. That the acceptance by the City of Salina, Kansas, of the proposal of the Broom & Brown Construction Co., Inc., hereinafter referred to as the "Contractor" as submitted to the Board of Commissioners on May 25, 19532 which is hereby found to be the lowest and best bid for such work, and the contract awarded by the Board of Commi- ssioners of said city to said contractor and signed on behalf of the City by its Mayor on Jude 1, 1953, for the construction of certain public improvments in the City of Salina, Kansas, to -wit: Curbing, guttering, Pam and grading of Crawford Avenue from the wast line of the Union racific Railroad Right -of -Way, thence east to the west line of Roach Street, extended north or south, as provid6d by Ordinance Number 5780. at and for the unit price for said work contained in said proposal, which proposal and contract are hereby referred toand made parts of this ordinance, be and the same is hereby ratified andcanfirmed, said proposal being within the estimated cost of said improvements as shown by the sworn estimates of the City Engineer on file in the Of fi of the City Clerk, which estimates are hereby referred to and made a part of this Ordce i inat�ee. Section 2. Said improvements shall be built and constructed in accordance with the plans ande sp cifications therefor prepared by the City Engineer on file in the Office of the City Clerk and in accordance with the proposal of said contractor and under the terms of said contract, all of which are hereby referred to and made parts of this ordinance. Section 3. That temporary notes signed by the Mayor and attested by the City Clerk be issued from time to time as the work progresses in the manner and form as required by law, the total amount thereof not to exceed the contract price of #58,072.30, for Bach work, such notes to bear interest not to exceed 41 per cent per, annum and to mature not later than December 1, 1954, and to be issued in such amounts and, at such time as money for the payment of the cost of such notes being issued to said contractor and to be redeemed and cancelled at the time that permanent bonds are issued in lieu thereof. Section 4. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after its Publication once in the official city p, per.
