AN ORD111ANCE providing and establishing the rates to be charged consumers of water
sold by the Water Works Department of the City of Salina and amending Section I of
Ordinance Number 5679 and providing for the repeal of said Section 1.
WHEREAS, the City of Salina is about to issue Revenue Bonds in the sum of $1,000,000-00
for the purpose of paying the cost of extending, enlarging and improving the plant
and system of the Municipal Water Works of sa-L-11 city by the construction n and equipping
of a water treatment plant; and

WHEREAS., said bonds will be paid in sixteen (16) approximately equal installments,
commencing on or about August 1, 19.151_,, and the interest thereon wil'_ be paid Semi-
annually; and
1ZHERY1S, in consideration of persons, firms, corporations and partnership purchasing
said bonds it is considered 'necessary to provide for an increase in -water rates to
provide funds to pay the principal of said bonds and the interest to accrue thereon;
and
WHEREAS, in consideration of said purchase the city deems it necessary and adviseable
to agree, and does hereby agree., not to reduce said rates until said principal and
interest is fully paid; and
NMI BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Corfunissioners of the City of Salina Kansas:
Section 1. 28-114. AMENDMENT. That Section 1 of Ordinance Number 5679 be and
it is hereby amended to read as follows,, to -wit:

Section 2. That the City of Salina hereby agrees., in consideration of persons,
firms, corporations mnd partnerships) buying Revenue Bonds to be issued to extend.,
enlarge and improve the water works plant and system not to decrease the rates, pre-
scribed, as aforesaid, until all such bonds and interest thereon are e fu lly paid.
Section 3. That Section 1 of Ordinance Number 5679, be and it is hereby repealed.
Section 4. Take Effect. This ordinance to be in effect and in force from and
after its passage and publication once in the official city paper.
