Taylor Construction Company for the construction of a certain Lateral Sanitary Sewer in the City of Salina, Kansas, heretofore designated as Lateral Sanitary Sewer District Number 293; and for the construction of a pumping station to Number 293 and extensions thereof, and pump the sewage of Lateral notes to pay the cost thereof, pending issuancegandrsale ofhe sbonds.oce f temporary BE IT ORDAINED by the Board,of Commissioners of the City of Salina, Kansas: Section 1. That the acceptance of the City of Salina, Kansas, of the proposal of the H. J. Taylor Construction Company, hereinafter referred to as the "con- tractor", as submitted to the Board of Commissioners on March 2, 1953, which is hereby found to be the lowest and best bid for such work, and the contract awarded by the Board of Commissioners of said city to said contractor and signed on behalf of the city by its Mayor on March 91 1953, for the construction of certain public improvements in the City of Salina, Kansas, to wit: An eight inch clay pipe sewer constructed in three branches, said branches designated as CC -1, CC -2, and CC -3. Branch CC -1 is described as follows: Beginning at a manhole Iocatrd in Country Club Road six feet east and seven feet north of the northeast corner of Lot 3 in Block Three, Country Club Heights Addition Number 2, an addition to the City of Salina, Saline County, Kansas, thence south 660 feet in the right- of-way first east of Block 3, Country Club Heights Addition Number 2, 6 feet east of the east line of said Block 3, to the centerline of Crestview Drive; thence west along the centerline of Crestview Drive 200 feet to a manhole to be constructed. Thence south along the centerline of utility easement between Lots 2 and 3, Block 4 in Country Club Heights Addition Number 2, 200 feet; thence along the center- line of utility easement along the south of Lot 2 in said Block 4, 100 feet; thence southwest along the centerline of utility easement along the east line of Block 4, 410 feet to a manhole to be constructed. Beginning also ata man- hole to be constructed in the center line of Crestview Drive, as aforesaid, thence north along the center line of north south utility easement in said Block 3, 470 feet to the centerline of the northermost east west utility easement in said Block 3 to a manhole to be constructed, thence west along the centerline of said northermost east west utility easement in said Block 3, 170 feet to the center line of Hilldale Road, to a manhole to be constructed, thence southwesterly along the center line of Hilldale Road, 970 feet to a manhole to be constructed, being the terminus of Branch CC -1 i Branch CC -2 is described as follows: i Beginning to be constructed in the centerline ofHilldale Road, 1170feete south of the south line of Country Club Road, thence west along the centerline of east west utility easement in Block 1, Country Club Heights Addition Number 2, 200 feet to a manhole to be con- structed, thence west along the centerline of said ea st utility easement to a point in Overhill Road 6 feet east woftand 5 feet south of the southeast corner of Lot 13, Block 6 in Country Club Heights Addition. Beginning also at said manhole to be constructed in said east west utility easement in Block 1 Country Club Heights Addition Number 2, thence south along the center line of north south utility easement in said Block 1, to the center line of Crestview Drive to a manhole to be constructed, thence south along the center line of the north south utility easement in Block 2, Country Club Heights Addition Number 2, to a manhole to be constructed in the intersection of the center line of said north south utility easement with the north line of Lot 10 in said Block 2, being the terminus of Branch CC -2. Branch CC -3 is described as follows: Beginning at a manhole in the center line of Crestview Drive, 25 feet north of the northwest corner of Lot 41 Block 2, Country Club Heights Add- ition Number 2, thence west 180 feet to the center line of Overhill Road to a manhole to be constructed, thence south- westerly along the center line of Overh&ll Road to a manhole to be there constructed and also commencingati the manhole to be constructed in Overhill Road, as aforesaid, thence northerly in the center line of said Overhill Road, 1 1 1 C'OrJSOL!D %TES --c_-! to a point 175 feet north of said manhole, being the terminus of Branch CC -3, and a Pumping station to pump the sewage from Lateral Number 293 and its extensions into the existing sewer located in Country Club Road in order to conduct the sewage of Lateral Number 293 and its extensions i to a point of outlet. at and for the unit price for said work contained in said proposal, which proposal ! and contract are hereby referredto and made a part of this ordinance, be and the same is hereby ratified and j confirmed, said proposal being within the estimated cost of said improvements as shown by the sworn estimate of the City EnginBeron file in the office of the City Clerk, which estimate is hereby referred to and made a part of this ordinance. i i Section 2. Said improvements shall be built and constructed in accordance with the plans and specifications therefore prepared by the City Engineer on file in the office of the City Clerk and in accordance with the proposal of said i I contractor and under the terms of said contract, all of which are hereby referred i' to and made a part of this ordinance. Section 3. That temporary emp ary notes signed by the Mayor and attested by the City Clerk be issued from time to time as the work progresses in the manner and form as required by law, the total amount thereof not to exceed the contract price of I $35,286.90 for such work, such notes to bear interest at not to exceed 2 per cent i per annum and to mature not later than December 15 195., and to be issued in such i amounts and at such times as may the money for the payment of the cost of such work be required, such notes to be issued to said contractor and to be redeemed and i cancelled at the time that Internal Improvement Bonds are issued in lieu thereof.
