Kansas: BE IT ORDAINED by the Governing Body of the City of Salina, Section 1. Section 2. That the types of significant exterior architectural features of the structures within the district that should be protected include the principal facades, main entrances, protruding bays, dormers, covered porches, extended entryways (portecheres) and cantilevered eaves with knee braces and exposed rafters. Section 3. That the types of construction, alteration, demolition and removal, other than those requiring a building or demolition permit, that should not be undertaken without obtaining a certificate of appropriateness include: Kuhn -Cox Printing — Samna, Ka ... a) Installation of off-street parking areas in any front yard in excess of a double -wide twenty foot (201) driveway located perpendicular to the street; b) Installation of a fence in any front yard; c) Installation of any siding on the exterior of any contributing principal structure; d) Installation of any sign exceeding two (2) square feet in area except temporary political campaign, real estate and construction signs. Section 4. That the principal structures to be designated as contributing include 123 and 130 West Crawford, 670, 671, 680, 700, 701, 708, 709, 714, 717, 719, 720, 723, 724, 727, 728, 740, 749, 751, 756, 758, 759, 760, 762, 800 and 801 Highland Avenue, 122 and 124 West Bond Street. Section 5. That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption and publication once in the official city newspaper.
