ORDINANCE NUMBER 06-10353 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 25, ARTICLE III, SECTION 25-52 OF THE SALINA CODE PERTAINING TO BATTERY AGAINST A LAW ENFORCEMENT N Z OFFICER AND REPEALING EXISTING SECTION 25-52. w BE ORDAINED by the Governing Body of Salina, Kansas: a a Section 1. That Chapter 25, Article III, Section 25-52 of the Salina Code is hereby amended to read as follows: U "Sec. 25-52. Battery Against a Law Enforcement Officer. Battery against a law enforcement officer is a battery, as defined in Section 25-51 of this article, committed against: (a) A uniformed or properly identified university or campus police officer while such officer in engaged in the performance of such officer's duty; or (b) A uniformed or properly identified state, county, or city law enforcement officer, other than a state correctional officer or employee, a city or county correctional officer or employee, a juvenile correctional facility officer or employee or a juvenile detention facility officer or employee, while such officer is engaged in the performance of such officer's duty. Battery against a law enforcement officer is a class A violation." Section 2. That the existing Section 25-52 is hereby repealed. Section 3.
