93-9562 Main TrafficwaysKinn -Cox Printing — Saiina, Kansas (Published in The Salina Journal March 30, 1993) ORDINANCE NUMBER 93-9562 AN ORDINANCE DESIGNATING ASH STREET, BELMONT BOULEVARD, BISHOP STREET, BROADWAY BOULEVARD, CENTENNIAL ROAD, CLOUD STREET, COLLEGE AVENUE, COUNTRY CLUB ROAD, CRAWFORD AVENUE, IRON AVENUE, MAGNOLIA AVENUE, MARKLEY ROAD, MARYMOUNT ROAD, NINTH STREET, NORTH STREET, OHIO STREET, PACIFIC AVENUE, REPUBLIC AVENUE, SANTA FE AVENUE, SCHILLING ROAD, SOUTH STREET, AND STATE STREET AS MAIN TRAFFICWAYS PURSUANT TO K.S.A. 12-685; AND REPEALING ORDINANCE NUMBER 88-9265. BE IT ORDAINED by the Governing Body of the City of Salina, Kansas: Section 1. The primary function of Ash Street, Belmont Boulevard Bishop Street, Broadway Boulevard, Centennial Road, Cloud Street, College Avenue, Country Club Road, Crawford Avenue, Iron Avenue, Magnolia Road, Markley Avenue, Marymount Road, Ninth Street, North Street, Ohio Street, Pacific Avenue, Republic Avenue, Santa Fe Avenue, Schilling Road, South Street and State Street is hereby found to be the movement of through traffic between areas of concentrated activity within the city or between such areas within the city and traffic facilities outside the city performing the function of a major trafficway based upon the following: A. ASH STREET is a major collector street running east from Broadway Boulevard to Ohio Street and is a principal street carrying east/west traffic through the center portion of the City. B. BELMONT BOULEVARD is a major arterial street running southwest from Ohio Street to Ninth Street and is the principal street carrying southwest/northeast traffic through the southeast portion of the City. C. BISHOP STREET is a major collector street running west from Ninth Street to College Avenue and is a principal street carrying east/west traffic through the north -central portion of the City. D. BROADWAY BOULEVARD is a major arterial street running south from one of the I-70 interchanges into the City and is the principal street carrying north/south traffic on the west side of the City. E. CENTENNIAL ROAD is a major arterial street running north from the south city limit to the north city limit and is the principal street carrying north/south traffic through the west portion of the City. F. CLOUD STREET is a major collector street running east from Centennial Road to Ohio Street and is a principal street carrying east/west traffic through the south portion of the City. G. COLLEGE AVENUE is a major collector street running north from South Street to Bishop Street and is a principal street carrying north/south traffic through the central portion of the City. COUNTRY CLUB ROAD is a major arterial street running west from the east cit limit line and is a principal street carrying east7west traffic through the north -central portion of the City. I. CRAWFORD AVENUE is a major arterial street running east from one of the I-135 interchanges into the City and is the principal street carrying east/west traffic through the south central portion of the City. J. IRON AVENUE is a major arterial street carrying traffic between the City's central and eastern commercial districts and is the principal street carrying east/west traffic through the north central portion of the City. K. MAGNOLIA ROAD is a major arterial street running east from the west city limits to the eastern city limits and is a principal street carrying east/west traffic through the south portion of the City. L. MARKLEY ROAD is a major collector street running south from Crawford to the south city limits and is a principal street carrying north/south traffic through the east portion of the City. M. MARYMOUNT ROAD is a major arterial street running north from Cloud Street to Country Club Road and is a principal street carrying north/south traffic through the east portion of the City. N. PACIFIC AVENUE is a major arterial street running east from Ninth Street to the city limits and is a principal street carrying east/west traffic through the north portion of the City. R. REPUBLIC AVENUE is a major collector street running east from Centennial Road to the city limit and is a principal street carrying east/west traffic through the south portion of the City. S. SANTA FE AVENUE is a major arterial street running north from Claflin to Otis and is a principal street carrying north/south traffic through the center portion of the City. T. SCHILLING ROAD is a major arterial street running west from the east city limit to Centennial Road and is the principal street carrying east/west traffic through the south portion of the City. U. SOUTH STREET is a major collector street running east from Broadway Boulevard to Fourth Street and is a principal street carrying east/west traffic through the south central portion of the City. — Salina, Kansas V. STATE STREET is a major arterial street running east from I-135 to the central business district and is a principal street carrying east/west traffic through the north portion of the City. Section 2. That Ash Street, Belmont Boulevard, Bishop Street, Broadway Boulevard, Centennial road, Cloud Street, College Avenue, Country Club Road, Crawford Avenue, Iron Avenue, Magnolia Road, Markley Road, Marymount Road, Ninth Street, North Street, Ohio Street, Pacific Avenue, Republic Avenue, Santa Fe Avenue, Schilling Road, South Street and State Street are hereby designated and established as "main trafficways" pursuant to K.S.A. 12-685. Section 3. That Ordinance Number 88-9265 is hereby repealed. Section 4. That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption and publication once in the official city newspaper.
