RESOLUTION NUMBER 06-6274
A RESOLUTION DECLARING THE INTENT OF THE CITY OF SALINA TO
PRE -PAY CERTAIN SPECIAL ASSESSMENTS RELATING TO SPECIFIC LOTS,
PIECES AND PARCELS OF REAL ESTATE WITHIN THE IMPROVEMENT
DISTRICT FOR THE SOUTH MARYMOUNT STREET IMPROVEMENTS, PROJECT
NO. 03-1424.
WHEREAS, the Governing Body adopted Resolution Number 04-6127 on October 25,
2004 (the "Resolution") finding as to the advisability and authorizing construction of an
improvement consisting of certain street improvements located along South Marymount Road in
the City of Salina, Kansas (the "Improvement"), determining the boundaries of the improvement
district against which a portion of the costs of the Improvements were to be assessed (the
"Improvement District"), and establishing the method of assessment; and
WHEREAS, the Improvement District includes the following:
Lots 17 - 19, Block 1, Lots 1 - 8, Block 2 and Lots 10- 12, Block 3, Cedar Ridge
Addition to the City of Salina, Saline County, Kansas.
Lots 1 - 7, Block 1, Lots 1 - 23, Block 2, Lots 1 - 5, Block .3, Lots 1 - 8, Block 4,
Lot 1, Block 5, and Lots 1 - 4, Block 6, RiverRun Addition to the City of Salina,
Saline County, Kansas.
Unplatted RiverRun Addition:
A tract of land to be located in the Northeast Quarter of Section 30,
Township 14 South, Range 2 West of the Sixth Principal Meridian,
Saline County, Kansas, more particularly described as follows:
Commencing at the Northeast Corner of said Northeast Quarter; thence South 00°
29'20" East, a distance of 1171.12 feet to the point of beginning;

WHEREAS, the Governing Body adopt on second reading Ordinance No. 06-10328 on
second reading on May 15, 2006 (the "Ordinance") levying special assessments against the lots,
pieces, and parcels of real estate within the Improvement District, including assessment against
the lots, as follows:

WHEREAS, based upon the findings set forth below, the Governing Body desires to pre-
pay the special assessments levied against the lots during the pre -payment period provided for
the Ordinance (the "Pre -Payment Period"); SO NOW THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED by the Governing Body of City of Salina, Kansas:
Section 1. Findings. The Governing Body finds that the public interest is best served by
the City paying the full amount of the special assessments levied against the lots set forth above
for the reason that these lots were previously charged a collector street assessment for the
construction of Mariposa Drive.
Section 2. Authorization to pre -pay. The Director of Finance and Administration is
directed to pre -pay during the Pre -payment Period the special assessments levied against the lots
in the amounts set forth above.
Section 3. Effective Date. This resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after
its adoption.
Adopted by the Board of Commissioners and signed by the Mayor this 15'b day of May
2006.
