ORDINANCE NUMBER 98-9876
AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE AMENDMENT OF ORDINANCE
NUMBER 8526, THE SAME BEING CHAPTER 42 OF THE SALINA CODE, AND THE
ZONING DISTRICT MAP THEREIN AND THEREBY ADOPTED AND PROVIDING
FOR THE REZONING OF CERTAIN PROPERTY WITHIN THE CITY AND
PRESCRIBING THE PROPER USES THEREOF.
WHEREAS, all conditions precedent for the amendment of the Zoning District Map,
the rezoning of certain property therein, hereinafter described has been timely complied with, SO
NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED by the Governing Body of the City of Salina, Kansas:
Section 1. AMENDMENT. DISTRICT "PDD", PLANNED DEVELOPMENT
DISTRICT. That the Zoning District Map of the City of Salina, Kansas, duly adopted and
published as a part of Ordinance Number 8526, the same being Chapter 42 of the Salina Code, be
and it is hereby amended so that the following described property be rezoned as follows, to -wit:
Lot 1, Block 1, Asbury Subdivision to the City of Salina, Saline County,
Kansas, more commonly known as 400 S. Santa Fe Avenue.
shall become a part of DISTRICT "PDD", PLANNED DEVELOPMENT DISTRICT.
Section 2. CONDITIONS OF APPROVAL. The use of said described property
shall be subject to all the conditions, restrictions and limitations as made and provided for in
Ordinance Number 8526, the same being Chapter 42 of the Salina Code with reference to the
"PDD", PLANNED DEVELOPMENT DISTRICT regulations and development of the property
shall also be subject to the following conditions, to wit:
1. Permitted uses shall include a heliport to be located directly west of
the hospital emergency room.
2. A detailed design plan for the heliport shall be provided prior to
construction. Said plan shall include facility markings, area lighting,
and wind indicator and oxygen tank screening.
3. An operations plan for the heliport shall be provided prior to use.
Said plan shall address measures to control vehicular traffic,
including EMS ambulances and liquid oxygen transport trucks,
measures to control pedestrian traffic, and any other measures to
enhance safety and security.
4. Following one year of operation, the Planning Commission shall
review the safety, noise and other relevant aspects of the heliport
and shall recommend to the City Commission that the use be
allowed on a permanent basis, allowed for an additional period of
time, or discontinued.
5. Development shall be in substantial conformance with the approved
site development plan.
Section 3. That all prior ordinances in conflict herewith as they relate to the above
described real estate are hereby repealed, except that Ordinance Number 89-9323 shall remain in
effect.
Section 4. That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its
adoption and publication once in the official city newspaper.
