AN ORDINANCE providing for the calling and holding of an election of the qualified voters,.
of the City of Salina, na.nsas, to vote upon the question of authorizing the Board of
Commissioners of said City to issue general obligation bonds of the City in the amount of!
X275,000.00 for the purpose of paying the cost of acquiring land for public parks and
developing the same for such purpose within or without the said City.
WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina, Kansas, deem it necessary that
said City purchase land for use as public parks and developing the same for such purpose;
and
WHEREAS, the cost of said purchase of hand and developing the same for such purpose will
not exceed the estimated amount of `275,000.00; and
WHEP,AS, itis necessary to issue general obligation bonds of said city to pay the cost of

acquiring said land and developing the same for said purpose; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary before said bonds may be legally issued to submit the proposition
of issuing the same for such purpose to the qualified electors of said City at an election
to be held within thirty (30) days from the date of the adoption and publication of this
ordinance; and
WTEREAS, the City of Salina is a City of the first class; and
WHEREAS, the issuance of said bonds and others now contemplated will not create a debt in
excess of the limit now provided by law; and
SO, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF SALINA,
KANSAS:

Section 1. That the preambles of this ordinance are hereby incorporated herein,

and that an election is hereby called to be held in the City of Salina,Kansas, August 3,
I
1954, between the hours of 6:00 o'clock A.M. and 7:00 otclock P.M. of said day, at the
i
time of the regular primary election and within thirty (30) days after the adoption and
publication of this ordinance according to law, and that such election shall be held at
the usual place of holding elections and shall be conducted by the officers or persons
provided by law for holding elections in said City of Salina, Kansas, and that the mayor
i
and two (2) additional members of the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina,Kansas,
being a majority orit j y of the governing body of said City, shall and are hereby ordered and
i
directed, jointly and severally, to publish notice of said election in the manner and
for m directed and required by Section 10-120, General Statutes of Kansas, 1949, and
that the purpose of calling said election is to submit to the qualified electors of said

City the proposition of issuing general obligation bonds of said City in the amount of
$275,000.00 to pay the cost of acquiring land for public parks and developing the same
for such purpose within or without the said City of Saliaa, Kansas, as more particularly
set forth in Section 2 hereof.
Section 2. That the proposition to be voted upon by the qualified electors of said
City at said election shall be substantially the following:

13-1021, 1953 Supplement to the General Statutes of Kansas,
1949, for the purpose of paying the cost of acquiring land for
