5853 Award Street Imp- ORDINANCE NU14BR 5853 CONSOLM D s1LT.N (Published in the Salina Journal - --- TV — 1954) AN ORDINANCE ratifying and confirming a contract with the H.J. Taylor Construction Company , for the construction of certain curbing, guttering, paving and, grading improvements on certain streets in the City of Salina, and providing for the issuance of temporary notes to Pay the cost thereof pending the issuance and sale of bonds. BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina, Kansas: Section 1. That the acceptance by the City of Salina, Kansas, of the proposal of the; H. J. Taylor Construction Company, hereinafter referred to as the "contractor" as submitted' to the Board of Commissioners on May 3, 1954, which is hereby found to be the lowest and best bid for such work, and the contract awarded by the Board of Commissioners of said City to said contractor and signed on behalf of the City by its Mayor on May 10, 1954, for the Curbing, and guttering of Lincoln Avenue, from the center line of Chester Avenue to the center line of Arthur Avenue, as provided for by Ordinance Number 5848. Curbing, guttering and grading of Missouri Avenue, from the south line of Stack Avenue to the south line - of Gypsum Avenue, as provided for by 0_rdinance Number 5848. Curbing, guttering and grading of the West side of Ohio Avenue, from the center line of Ellsworth Avenue to the center line of Jewell Avenue, as provided for by Ordinance Number 5848. at and for the unit price for said work contained in said proposal, which proposal and contractors hereby referred to and made parts of this ordinance, be and the same is hereby ratified and confirmed, said proposal being within the estimated cost of said i construction of certain public improvements in the City of Salina, Kansas, to -wit: Paving of Frost Street from the east line of Sherman to the east line of Eleventh Street, as provided for by Ordinance Number 5849• Paving of Sunrise Drive from the north line of Wilson Street to the South line of McAdams Road, as provided for by Ordinance Number 5849. and grading Paving/of Sunrise Drive from the north line of Morningside Drive to north line of Republic Avenue, jas provided for by Ordinance Number 5849. Paving of Washington Street, from the west line of Twelfth Street to the west line of Phillips Street, i as provided for by Ordinance Number 5849. Curbing, South guttering and grading of Side of Ellsworth Avenue, from east line of Lewis Street to i the West line of Ohio Street, as provided for by Ordinance Number 5848. Curbing, guttering and grading of Fifth Street, from the center line of Harsh Avenue to center line of Hamilton Avenue, as provided for by Ordinance Number 5848. Curbing, guttering and grading of North side of Jewell Avenue, from the center line of Roach Street to the center line of Ohio Avenue, as provided for by Ordinance Number 5848. Curbing, guttering and grading of Lewis Street, from the north line of Jewell Avenue north approximately i 128 feet more or less, as provided for by Ordinance Number 5848. Curbing, and guttering of Lincoln Avenue, from the center line of Chester Avenue to the center line of Arthur Avenue, as provided for by Ordinance Number 5848. Curbing, guttering and grading of Missouri Avenue, from the south line of Stack Avenue to the south line - of Gypsum Avenue, as provided for by 0_rdinance Number 5848. Curbing, guttering and grading of the West side of Ohio Avenue, from the center line of Ellsworth Avenue to the center line of Jewell Avenue, as provided for by Ordinance Number 5848. at and for the unit price for said work contained in said proposal, which proposal and contractors hereby referred to and made parts of this ordinance, be and the same is hereby ratified and confirmed, said proposal being within the estimated cost of said CON6OLMAT8D-S:�t.rr: r- 11 improvements as shown by the sworn estimates of the City Engineer on file in the office off the City Clerk which estimates are hereby referred to and made apart of this ordinance. + Section 2. Said improvements shall be built and constructed in accordande with the Plans and specifications therefor prepared by the City Engineer on file in the office of the Cit Clerk and in accordance with the City proposal of said contractor and, under the terms of sA1d contract all of which are hereby by referred to and made parts of this ordinance. I Section 3. That temporary notes signed by the Mayor and attested by the City Clerk be issued from time to time as the work progresses in the manner and form as required by j law, the total amount thereof not to be exceed the amount of $59,107.40 for such work, such notes to bear interest not to exceedl� a per cent per annum., and to mature not later than December 1, 1955, and to be issued in such amounts and at such time as money for the payment of the cost of such notes b6ing issued to said contractor and to be redeemed and cancelled at the time that permanent bonds are issued in lieu thereof. Section 4.
