5847 Award Utility Imp�l ORDINANCE NUMBER 5847 CONSOLIDATED -SAL!`" _ (Published in the Salina Journal ""Or AN ORDINANCE ratifying and confirming a contract with H. J. Taylor Construction Compar* for the construction of certain lateral sanitary sewer in the City of Salina, Kansas, heretofore designated as Lateral Sanitary Sewer Districts 300 and1 or 30 , and providing for the issuance of temporary ary notes to pay the cost thereof, pending issuance and sale of I bonds. BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina, Kansas: Section 1. That the acceptance ofthe City of Salina, Kansas, of the proposal of the H. J. Taylor Construction Company, hereinafter referred to as the "Contractor" as sub- mitted to the Board of Commissioners on April 5, 1954, which is hereby found to be the i lowest and best bid for such work, and the contract awarded by the Board of Commissioners of said city to said contractor and signed on behalf of the Cit b its City y Mayor on April 12, 1954, for the construction of certain public improvements in the City of Salina, Kansas' to -wit: An 8 inch clay pipe sewer beginning at an existing manhole which is in the center line of Crawford Avenue and 10 feet east of the west line of U.S. 81 By -Pass; thence north on a line 10 feet east and parallel to the west line of U.S. 81 By -Pass 141x1.70 where a manhole will be constructed which will be terminus of Lateral Number 300. An 8 inch clay pipe sewer beginning at an existing 8 inch sewer in first alley east of Connecticut and 90 feet south of the south line of Stack Avenue; thence south 455 feet to Avenue at which place a manhole will be constructed and a 8 inch sewer will branch west 110 feet in said alley and a 8 inch sewer will branch east in said alley which point will be terminus of Lateral 301. I at and for the unit price for said work contained in said proposal, which proposal and contract a3'e hereby referred to and made a part of this ordinance, be and the same is hereby ratified and confirmed, said proposal being within the estimated cost of said improvements as shown by the sworn estimate of the City Engineeron file in the office of the City Clerk, which estimate is hereby referred to and made a part of this ordinance. Section 2. Said improvements shall be built and constructed in accordance with the plans and specifications therefore prepared by the City Engineer on file in the office of the City Clerk and in accordance with the proposal of said contractor and under the terms of said contract, all of which are hereby referred to and made a part of this ordinance. Section 3. That temporary notes signed by the Mayor and attested by the City Clerk i be issued from time to time as the work progresses in the manner and form as required by law, the total amount thereof not to exceed the contract price of $10,857.73 for such work, such notes to bear interest at not to exceed 42 per cent per annum and to mature not later than December 1, 1955, and to be issued in such amounts and at such times as may the money for the payment of the cost of such work be required, such notes to be issued i to said contractor and to be redeemed and cancelled at the time that Internal Improvement Bonds are issued in lieu thereof.
