ORDINANCE NUMBER 99-9930
AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN
TRACTS OF LAND, IN SALINE COUNTY, KANSAS IN CONFORMITY WITH THE
PROVISIONS OF K.S.A. 12-519 TO 12-526, INCLUSIVE.
BE IT ORDAINED by the Governing Body of the City of Salina, Kansas:
Section 1. That the following described tracts of land, to -wit:
Tract 1:
A tract of land located in the Northeast Quarter (NEI/4) and Southeast
Quarter (SEI/4) of Section Twenty -Two (22) and the Northeast Quarter
(NEI/4) of Section Twenty -Seven (27), all in Township Fourteen South
(T14S), Range Three West (R3W) of the Sixth Principal Meridian in
Saline County, Kansas, more particularly described as follows:
Beginning at the Southeast corner of the Southeast Quarter
(SEI/4) of said Section Twenty -Two (22);
Thence North Zero degrees Zero minutes and Zero seconds
East (N 00°00'00" E) along the east line of said Southeast
Quarter (SEI/4), a distance of Six Hundred Fifty and Zero
Hundredths (650.00) feet;
Thence South Eighty -Nine degrees Thirty -Seven minutes
and Five seconds West (S 89°37'05" W) a distance of Two
Hundred Forty and Zero Hundredths (240.00) feet;
Thence North Twenty -Six degrees Fifty -Six minutes and
Thirty -Seven seconds West (N 26'56'37" W) a distance of
One Thousand Four Hundred Fifty -Six and Thirty -Six
Hundredths (1,456.36) feet;
Thence North Zero degrees Twenty -Six minutes and
Twenty -One seconds East (N 00°26'21" E) a distance of Six
Hundred Ninety and Twenty Hundredths (690.20) feet to a
point on the north line of said Southeast Quarter (SEI/4);
Thence South Eighty -Nine degrees Thirty -One minutes and
Zero seconds West (S 89°31'00" W) along said north line a
distance of Ninety -One and Eighty -One Hundredths (91.81)
feet to the west line of Edgemere Addition;
Thence North Zero degrees Four minutes and Zero seconds
West (N 00°04'00" W) along the west line of Edgemere
Addition a distance of Two Thousand Three Hundred
Ninety -Nine and Forty Hundredths (2,399.40) feet to a point
which is Two Hundred Forty and Zero Hundredths (240.00)
feet south of the center line of Crawford Avenue;
Thence South Eighty -Nine degrees Twenty -One minutes
and Zero Hundredths seconds West (S 89°21'00" )&7)
parallel with the center line of Crawford Avenue, a distance
of Six Hundred Thirty -Eight and Twenty -Five Hundredths
(638.25) feet;
Thence North Zero degrees Four minutes and Zero seconds
West (N 00°04'00" W) a distance of Two Hundred Forty
and Zero Hundredths (240.00) feet to the center line of
Crawford Avenue;
Thence South Eighty -Nine degrees Twenty -Two minutes
and Fifteen seconds West (S 89°22'15" W) along the center
of Crawford Avenue a distance of One Thousand Ten and
One Hundredth (1,010.01) feet, more or less, to the
Northwest corner of the Northeast Quarter (NE'/4) of said
Section Twenty -Two (22);
Thence South Zero degrees One minute and Forty -One
seconds East (S 00°01'41" E) along the west line of said
Northeast Quarter (NEI/4), a distance of One Thousand Three

line of the Northeast Quarter (NEI/4) of said Section Twenty -

Thence continuing South Eighteen degrees Thirty -Five
minutes and Zero seconds East (S 18°35'00" E) along said
west right-of-way line a distance of Four Hundred One and
Forty -Three Hundredths (401.43) feet;
Thence South Twenty -Three degrees Twenty minutes and
Forty -Nine seconds East (S 23'20'49" E) along said west
right-of-way line a distance of Three Hundred One and Four
Hundredths (301.04) feet to a point which is One Hundred
Fifty and Zero Hundredths (150.00) feet west of the center
of said Interstate Highway 135;
Thence South Eighteen degrees Thirty -Five minutes and
Zero seconds East (S 18°35'00" E) along said west right-of-
way line, a distance of Nine Hundred Five and Two
Hundredths (905.02) feet;
Thence continuing along said west right-of-way line on a
curve to the left having a radius of Five Thousand Eight
Hundred Seventy -Nine and Sixty -Five Hundredths
(5,879.65) feet, an arc distance of One Thousand Two
Hundred Thirty -Four and Ninety -Five Hundredths
(1,234.95) feet , said curve having a long chord of One
Thousand Two Hundred Thirty -Two and Sixty -Eight
Hundredths (1,232.68) feet and a bearing of South Twenty -
Four degrees Thirty -Six minutes and Two seconds East (S
24°36'02" E) to the south line of the Southeast Quarter
(SE'/4) of said Section Twenty -Two (22);
Thence continuing along said west right-of-way line on a
curve to the left having a radius of Five Thousand Eight
Hundred Seventy -Nine and Sixty -Five Hundredths
(5,879.65) feet, an arc distance of Four Hundred Thirty and
Eighty -Eight Hundredths (430.88) feet, said curve having a
long chord of Four Hundred Thirty and Seventy -Eight
Hundredths (430.78) feet and a bearing of South Thirty -Two
degrees Forty -Three minutes and One second East (S
32°43'01" E) to a point on the west right-of-way line of
Centennial Road;
Thence North along the west right-of-way line of Centennial
Road, a distance of Three Hundred Seventy and Thirty -Nine
Hundredths (370.39) feet, more or less, to the north line of
the Northeast Quarter (NE'/4) of said Section Twenty -Seven
(27);
Thence North Eighty -Nine degrees Thirty -One minutes and
Twelve seconds East (N 89'3 I' 12" E) along the north line of
said Northeast Quarter (NEI/4), a distance of Four Hundred
Thirty -Two and Thirty -Four Hundredths (432.34) feet back
to the Point of Beginning.
The above described tract of land contains One Hundred Twenty -Five and Seventy -
Six Hundredths (125.76) acres, more or less.
Tract 2:
A tract of land located in the Southeast Quarter (SEI/4), the Southwest Quarter
(SWI/4), and the Northwest Quarter (NWI/4) of Section Twenty -Six (26),
Township Fourteen South (T14S), Range Three West (R3W) of the Sixth
Principal Meridian in Saline County, Kansas, more particularly described as
follows:
Commencing at the southwest corner of the Southeast Quarter
(SEI/4) of said Section Twenty -Six (26);
Thence North Zero degrees Nine minutes and Fifteen seconds East
(N 00'09'15" E) along the west line of said Southeast Quarter
(SEI/4), a distance of One Thousand Three Hundred Eighteen and
Thirteen Hundredths (1,318.13) feet;
Thence South Eighty -Nine degrees Fifty -Seven minutes and
Fifteen seconds East (S 89°57'15" E) a distance of One Hundred
Twelve and Eighty -Nine Hundredths (112.89) feet to a point on the
westerly right-of-way of Interstate Highway 135 and the Point of
Beginning;
Thence southeasterly along said westerly right-of-way on a non -
tangent curve to the right having a radius of Five Thousand Five
Hundred Seventy -Nine and Fifty -Eight Hundredths (5,579.58) feet,
an arc distance of Two Hundred Twenty -Three and Seventy -Eight
Hundredths (223.78) feet, said curve having a long chord of Two
Hundred Twenty -Three and Seventy -Seven Hundredths (223.77)
feet and a bearing of South Thirty -Eight degrees Twelve minutes
and Thirty -One seconds East ( S 38 ° 12'31" E);
Thence North Fifty -Two degrees Fifty -Five minutes and Thirty -Six
seconds East (N 52°55'36" E) a distance of Three Hundred and
Zero Hundredths (300.00) feet to a point on the easterly right-of-
way of Interstate Highway 135;
Thence northwesterly following the east right-of-way of said
Interstate Highway 135 a distance of Three Thousand Two
Hundred Ninety -Two and Zero Hundredths (3,292.00) feet, more
or less, to it's intersection with the west right-of-way line of the
Missouri Pacific Railroad;
Thence southwesterly along the west right-of-way line of said
railroad a distance of Three Hundred Twelve and Sixty Hundredths
(312.60) feet, more or less to the westerly right-of-way line of
Interstate Highway 135;
Thence southeasterly along the westerly right-of-way of Interstate
Highway 135, a distance of Two Thousand Nine Hundred Fifty -
Two and Zero Hundredths (2,952.00) feet, more or less, back to the
Point of Beginning.
The above described tract of land contains Twenty -One and Sixty -Three
Hundredths (21.63) acres, more or less.
Tract 3:
A tract of land located in the Southeast Quarter (SEI/4) and the Northeast
Quarter (NEI/4) of Section Thirty -Five (35), Township Fourteen South (T14S),
Range Three West (R3W) of the Sixth Principal Meridian in Saline County,
Kansas, more particularly described as follows:
Beginning at a point of the west right-of-way line of Interstate
Highway 135 at the northeast corner of Hollybrooke Addition, said
point being One Thousand Three Hundred Seventy -Nine and Zero
Hundredths (1,379.00) feet north of and One Thousand Two
Hundred Seventy -Six and Zero Hundredths (1,276.00) feet west of
the southeast corner of the Southeast Quarter (SE'/4) of said Section
Thirty -Five (35);
Thence East parallel with the south line of said Southeast Quarter
(SEI/4), a distance of Three Hundred and Zero Hundredths (300.00)
feet to the east right-of-way line of Interstate Highway 135;
Thence northerly along the easterly right-of-way of Interstate
Highway 135, a distance of Two Thousand Nine Hundred Seventy -
Four and Zero Hundredths (2,974.00) feet, more or less to a point
approximately Four Hundred Sixty -Four and Zero Hundredths
(464.00) feet North of the Northwest corner of Lambertz Addition;
Thence South Seventy -Seven degrees Twenty -Five minutes and
Thirty -Seven seconds West (S 77°25'37" W) a distance of Three
Hundred and Zero Hundredths (300.00) feet to a point on the
westerly right-of-way of Interstate Highway 135;
Thence southerly along the westerly right-of-way of Interstate
Highway 135 a distance of Two Thousand Nine Hundred Seven
and Zero Hundredths (2,907.00) feet, more or less back to the
Point of Beginning.
The above described tract of land contains Twenty and Thirty Hundredths
(20.30) acres, more or less.
meeting one or more of the classifications for annexation prescribed by K.S.A. 12-519 to 12-526,
inclusive, are hereby annexed and made a part of the City of Salina, Kansas.
Section 2. That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its
adoption and publication once in the official city newspaper.
